Particularly in the context of agriculture, we need to learn to measure technology in terms of computational cycles performed per unit of physical energy expended, with a strong preference for technologies that score higher on this metric.

An interesting point re metrics ... creating a half life measurement on nutritional values in produce ... food waste is extremely important in the overall picture ...

I just don’t know how I didn’t see it coming. Green roofs are firmly cemented in the vernacular of contemporary building and there are companies which specialize in these sorts of things. Green walls are something slightly less talked about but, I think, with even more potential for raising awareness of their presence. Great read on what can be done for the future ... not the only solution, CEA or Controlled Environment Agriculture can be one of many tools that we can employ going forward to supply the needed food and nutrition for the growing population ...
