A WEDDING PLANNER AT A HOTEL IN KENT. When you start looking for your wedding venue in Kent you will probably be focusing your initial thoughts on the building, the function rooms themselves, and of course the gardens for those all important photographs.

However, there are one or two other things that you should take into consideration as well. Given our years of experience we are very aware of just how much there is on which you have to make a decision. We know that sometimes, it can seem to be more than a little overwhelming.

However, here at our wedding venue in Bromley our wedding planner will have everything covered for you. Such as providing you with a seating and floor plan, this will make it so much easier for you when you have to decide who is going to sit where.

During your meeting with our wedding planner, everything that you can think of and things you have never even considered will be discussed. Let you mind run free…would you like a chocolate fountain, an ice sculpture, a private room for photographs, a bedroom for you to prepare in, photographs in the garden, a balloon release? Just relax and share your thoughts with our planner, tell her about the things you may like to do, she will then be able to tell you if there are any limitations. You can decorate the room with your wedding theme and colour, bring along your own photographer, bring your own wedding cake and table centerpieces.

Together we will make Bromley Court Hotel look amazing for you on your wedding day. We will put together a personal wedding package for you that is exactly what you have agreed to. You will then have a quotation that covers absolutely everything, safe in the knowledge that you are within your budget and everything is in place for your perfect wedding day.

A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT WITH A STUNNING BRIDE

A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT WITH A STUNNING BRIDE | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it

We know that most brides wear wedding gowns, if not a full length traditional dress, then certainly something very special for the day. It always used to be that case that a bride wore a white dress and veil. However, fashions have certainly changed and these days we find that here at our wedding venue in Kent brides tend to choose either a colour that most flatters them or a colour that is part of her wedding “theme.” You may not know it, but one of the very first women to wear a white wedding dress was Mary Queen of Scots. Whilst watching the TV series “Victoria” last weekend I remembered reading somewhere that white did not become the colour of choice until 1840 and the marriage of Queen Victoria. After her wedding picture was published all over the world, it really started the whole white wedding dress tradition, and suddenly most young women wanted to copy the queen, and started wearing white. When you are shopping for your wedding gown, there are certain things you might keep in mind, so that you look perfect on your special day. Choosing your dress is, for you, the most important thing in all your wedding plans and you want to make sure that you not only look stunning but your dress fits well and is, most important of all, comfortable for you to wear. Choose a dress that suits your body shape, choose one that is in proportion to your body. Here are a few tips to help you choose the prefect dress based on your body shape. If you are short, choose an A-line style dress. This style tends to make you look taller. This style of dress is best if you don’t have a full skirt. The A-line shape is also great if you have a voluptuous figure. In that it will make you look taller and slimmer by focusing the attention on your height. If your middle is smaller than your hips, then the best style of wedding gown to choose is something that focuses the attention on your upper body. Choose a full skirted gown and show a little of your back, shoulders and arms, and of course, the dress should not fit too tightly around your waist. When you arrive here, for your wedding in Kent, you will look radiant and relaxed and most important of all ready to enjoy your ceremony and wedding reception. A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT WITH A STUNNING BRIDE We know that all brides wear wedding gowns, if not a full length traditional dress, then certainly something very special for the day. FLOWER POWER AT A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT.

FLOWER POWER AT A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT. | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it

One of the most beautiful hotels in the Kent. Perfect for a summer wedding when the flowers in the garden are at their best.

There are so many sayings that are trotted out when a couple are getting married like “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue and a Silver Sixpence in her Shoe” Did you know that this rhyme originated in Victorian times? “Something Old” signifies that the couple’s friends will stay with them. In one version of the tradition the “Something Old” was an old garter which was given to the bride by a happily married woman so that the new bride would also enjoy a happy marriage. “Something New” looks to the future for health, happiness and success. We always hear at least part of this one when we are talking to bridal couples at our wedding venue in Kent. We find that even though people talk about what is good and what is bad luck not many people know how these customs originated. For example, “Something Borrowed” is an opportunity for the Bride’s family to give her something as a token of their love (it must be returned to ensure Good Luck), and ‘Something Blue’ is thought lucky because Blue represents fidelity and constancy. The custom began in ancient Israel where brides wore a blue ribbon in their hair to symbolise their fidelity. A sixpence was placed in the shoe to bring the couple wealth in their married life. Some brides still place a coin in their shoe during the marriage ceremony. What about Flower Power? Flowers have always been a big feature at Weddings. The Groom is supposed to wear a flower that appears in the Bridal Bouquet in his button-hole. This stems from the medieval tradition of a Knight wearing his Lady’s colours, as a declaration of his love. Each flower has its own meaning and can display a special message. Orange Blossom, for instance, signifies chastity, purity and loveliness, while red chrysanthemums means “I love you” So, a few more wedding traditions explained. If there are any more that you have heard about just let us know when you come and take a look around our hotel…one of the most beautiful hotels in the Kent.

AN EASTER EGG HUNT IN BROMLEY. - Bromley Court Hotel

AN EASTER EGG HUNT IN BROMLEY. - Bromley Court Hotel | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it

Easter is on it’s way and along with it comes the tradition of giving Easter eggs and of course an Easter egg hunt. This Easter, we are holding an Easter egg hunt here in Bromley, and not only an Easter egg hunt but also a very special Easter Sunday lunch.

So, if you are having friends or family over let us do all the hard work for you, no cooking no washing up but all the time in the world to enjoy a wonderful Easter Sunday lunch…just sit back and relax with a glass of something chilled and the anticipation of the feast ahead. All you have to do is give us a call or e-mail us to make a reservation here at our beautiful hotel in Bromley. By the by, do you know the origins of an Eaters egg hunt? Well, according to legend, the Easter Bunny, also called the Easter Hare and the Spring Bunny, brings baskets filled with coloured eggs, sweets, and sometimes toys to the homes of children on the night before Easter, in much the same way as Father Christmas is said to deliver presents on Christmas Eve. The Easter Bunny will either put the baskets in a particular place or hide them somewhere in the house or garden for the children to find when they wake up in the morning. So there you have it, that’s the tradition of the Easter egg hunt. It’s also said that coloured Easter eggs may have derived from a pagan belief which saw eggs as a representation of the sun. Of course Easter has become a little commercialised. Easter bunnies, Easter egg hunts, chocolate Easter eggs and other assorted sweet treats are all part of the commercial aspect of Easter. The chocolate Easter egg in particular is something that many adults as well as children look forward to indulging in around Easter time. It’s a perfect excuse to eat chocolate…if you need one that is! But what about the Easter bunny…we can’t overlook him! The legend of the Easter Bunny bringing eggs appears to have been brought to the United States by settlers from south western Germany. The German tradition of the Easter Bunny or “Oschter Haws” migrated to America in the 1800s, probably accompanying German immigrants, many of whom settled in Pennsylvania. Over the past 200 years, the Easter Bunny has become the most commercially recognized symbol of Easter. Come along and join in the fun here, we very much look forward to seeing you.

Why is Easter so early this year? - Bromley Court Hotel

Why is Easter so early this year? - Bromley Court Hotel | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it

Easter is one of the oldest Christian traditions, but unlike Christmas it doesn’t fall on the same date every year. Of course Easter Sunday is always on a Sunday! But in the UK, because we follow the Gregorian calendar, Easter is celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon that occurs after the first day of spring. So this is why there can be a full months difference between an early and late Easter, bizarre we know. Whilst Easter is the high point in the Christian calendar as the start of the dawn of a new life, we wondered why gifts of Easter Eggs and Easter bunnies were so popular. We weren’t surprised to learn that both symbolize ‘new life’ hence them becoming synonymous with this celebration. Easter is of course time for school holidays too, so the perfect time to get away with the family and have some fun time together. At Bromley Court we can help, why not grab a room in our hotel, enjoy the hotel facilities and surroundings and we can book you in for our fantastic Easter Sunday Lunch. Of course there is the mandatory Easter egg hunt for the children, but don’t worry we have enough so you won’t be left out!! To really enjoy the weekend, stay with us..take a look at our Bromley room availability join us for your Easter Sunday lunch, we have an Easter egg hunt for the children, and plenty for adults to enjoy too!

A VERY SPECIAL WEDDING VENUE IN KENT | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it

A VERY SPECIAL WEDDING VENUE IN KENT.

Every wedding is different, and the best way to make sure that your day is very special, is to take time and care selecting your wedding venue.  A beautiful situation, wonderful gardens and a stunning building, just as we have here at Bromley Court, will fit your plans perfectly. If you are opting for a civil ceremony you will, of course need to book this very special wedding venue in Kent that has a license for civil weddings. There are good transport links for your guests, and for those who are traveling some distance we will be delighted to offer them accommodation.

If you choose a wedding venue in Bromley our hotel is the perfect place to begin your plans for your big day. Of course hotels are not only for weddings! We deal with corporate guests as well, and offer both conference and accommodation as a package; we are highly experienced in welcoming and catering for large numbers of guests so no matter how long your guest list is you can feel assured that we will be able to give you your perfect day.

Tips for a worry free wedding and wedding reception:

Dress.   Make sure that you can dance in your Wedding Dress – a magnificent Train will look stunning at the Ceremony but may not work quite as well on the dance floor.

Photographer.   Ensure that your Photographer is well briefed on your specific requirements for the formal photographs following the Ceremony so that guests are not hanging around for ages whilst these are being taken!

Children.   Organise your wedding so that younger guests are well looked after. After the Ceremony and Reception many children start to get bored at a grand dinner so if your budget allows we can create a separate area where they can enjoy a fun meal and be entertained. They can then join the after dinner dancing.

Speeches.   Speeches during the Wedding Breakfast should be short! Encourage all speech makers to rehearse and time their speeches.

We know that these few tips will be of help to you both, however, please contact us…come and see us….take a look around. Our wedding planner will be more than happy to have a chat with you to talk in more detail as to how exactly your want your wedding to be.

DELICIOUS FOOD AT A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT

DELICIOUS FOOD AT A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it

DELICIOUS FOOD AT A WEDDING VENUE IN KENT

There are many factors which need to be considered when planning a wedding; from the dress and the flowers to the venue and the catering. Many people have different opinions as to the most important part of a wedding. Personally, I would say that the vows are the most important but they would be followed closely by the food! Your wedding guests will always remember if the menu is superbly elegant, deliciously tasty and incredibly innovative. Just as it is here at our wedding venue in Kent. So in order to get your wedding catering right there are a number of things you might bear in mind. Firstly, think about the season in which you are getting married. Summer time is the most popular time of year to get wed, with its warm days and mild evenings. If therefore, you are getting married between the months of June and September dining al fresco should definitely a consideration. There is really nothing better than a wedding set against the backdrop of our beautiful grounds in the Kent countryside. If you are looking for a very different and very exceptional wedding venue in Bromley here, with us, at Bromley Court Hotel is just the place that would be perfect for you. These days more and more people are looking for something different, such as a hog roast or the more sophisticated type of BBQ, for their wedding breakfast. If, however, you have planned your wedding for the winter months, you do not necessarily have to forgo the whole idea of an outdoor hog roast, however, given our winters, a warming three course seated meal may be a better option. We are delighted to offer a range of menus with seasonal options along with varying prices. We also offer local produce and you will be very welcome to come along and enjoy a menu taster. For us it is incredibly important to firstly agree with you on all the courses and then for you to try them. This will give you the chance to sample what you and your wedding guests will be eating on your wedding day and enable you to make any changes that you wish so that everything will be as you expect it on the “Big Day.”

AN HISTORIC MEETING VENUE IN KENT.

When you are planning any event, be it in either your personal or business life, then I am quite sure that you would prefer a venue that has some “atmosphere” rather than a very modern building. If you are looking for a meeting venue in Kent then I can safely say that our hotel here in Bromley has the most amazing gardens and a wonderful building that is steeped in history. In fact Bromley Court, the building that stands today, was constructed by Baron Farnborough in 1801. The Baron was known, oddly, as the “King’s Spectacles”simply because of his influence on the Regency Kings George IV and William IV. The Regency Court arrived on Bromley Hill a number of times; always present were the Prime Ministers of the age, William Pitt the Younger and the Duke of Wellington. Well known as a collector, patron of the Arts, published writer and artist, Baron Farnborough was a founder of the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal Institution of British Architects and the British Museum. Interestingly, when King George IV decided to remodel Windsor Castle the Baron even drew up the plans. The Baron’s wife, Amelia Lane, was also an artist. In fact she was the designer of the Italianate Gardens including the two large clay urns which can still be seen in the castle gardens today. After the death of Baron Farnborough the Estate was sadly broken up; part of it went on to be developed as housing. Bromley Court itself was converted into a Hotel in 1931 by Leon Frenkel, a successful businessman. Of course you may be looking for the perfect romantic wedding venue in Kent, if so, our hotel will be the hotel for you. With two acres of the most beautiful landscaped gardens and a choice of so many different banqueting suites, the only problem you will have is which one to choose for your reception and ceremony! Just make a call and book an appointment with our extremely helpful wedding co-ordinator and your dream wedding plans will come together effortlessly.

Regardless of the theme, location and the little details that will make your day your own, there are certain decisions you need to make as soon as possible. Before you book anything for your wedding, there are several things to consider, such as whether you want to have a church or civil ceremony, the date and who you need to ask for help and when. Begin by deciding exactly what type of wedding venue you would like to book for you big day. If you are looking for a beautiful, elegant house steeped in history, surrounded by breathtaking gardens and wonderful countryside and conveniently close to London our wedding venue in Bromley will fit the bill perfectly. Your wedding date may be determined by the availability of your church, register office or reception venue so it’s a good idea to make enquiries before making a final decision on your date. If you want to have your wedding on a summer Saturday, you may have to book your ceremony and reception venues a year in advance. If you decide on a Sunday, weekday or winter wedding you may have fewer problems with booking ahead. Here, at one of the most beautiful hotels in Kent we are situated close to London with superb road and rail links, and yet our hotel has the feel of being deep in the British countryside making it the perfect wedding venue for all seasons. Whether grand or intimate, traditional or contemporary, your choice of wedding style is something you need to be totally happy with, and we will be working hard with you to make it all happen. Decide upon your wedding theme as early as possible because choosing the theme for your wedding early on makes the rest of the wedding planning easier. It will influence lots of the little decisions as well as the big ones. Your wedding theme can be subtle, such as a colour or motif featured in the invitations and repeated through details in the dresses, flowers, place cards, decor etc. Or it can be dramatic, such as a historical theme and encouraging the guests to arrive in period costume. Either way, if your wedding theme is taken from something you love, it makes the planning so more fun.[...]

A WEDDING FAIR IN KENT IN MARCH

A WEDDING FAIR IN KENT IN MARCH | Venues and Places to stay | Scoop.it
If you are looking for a very different and exceptional wedding venue in Bromley then one of the most beautiful hotels in the UK is just the place for you.
BromleyCourtHotel's insight:

It’s your wedding! Of course, choosing the right wedding venue is probably the most important decision you are preparing to make. So, by selecting one of the most beautiful hotels in the UK, as your wedding venue in Kent, will make your day a memorable one.

Of course there are so many other decisions to make, flowers, photographers, cars, table decorations etc etc, this list will seem endless, but here’s where we can help. This year on Sunday 20th March from 7.30pm-10.30pm we will be holding a Wedding Fair. You will be able to talk to a whole array of highly experienced exhibitors who will be displaying everything that you could possibly need to make your wedding simply perfect.
You will certainly have talked about your budget and will have a rough idea in your mind of all expenses for the wedding including catering, venue, floral decorations, cars, photographers, invitation cards, bridal flowers, and accommodation for guests. When you come along to our Wedding Fair you will be able to take your time, go from exhibitor to exhibitor and most certainly find exactly what you are looking. If you then work closely with the wedding planner at our venue it will all fall into place.
In order to get your wedding catering right there are a number of things you will have to bear in mind. Firstly, think about the season in which you are getting married. Summer time is the most popular time of year to get wed, with its warm days and mild evenings. If therefore, you are getting married between the months of June and September dining al fresco should definitely be a possibility.

If you are looking for a very different and exceptional wedding venue in Bromley then we are just the place for you.
