En 2009, la journaliste de Télérama Véronique Brocard suscitait nombre de réactions, en se demandant si les radios musicales avaient encore un avenir. "Supplantées par Internet, confrontées au vieillissement de leurs auditeurs et à la baisse de leur audience", leur déclin semble inéluctable, affirmait-elle. Média de prescription et de découverte musicale historique, le passage à l’an 2000 a réinterrogé le rôle central de la radio. Depuis 20 ans, alors que tous les médias traditionnels ont connu des mutations profondes, la radio semble ne pas avoir évolué aussi vite, et être encore à la traîne de la révolution numérique.
