Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States: 2014 National Climate Assessment | Vaughan geo 160 | Scoop.it

UNDERSTANDING CLIMATE CHANGE, May 05, 2014

On May 5, the National Climate Assessment published its third report, “Climate Change Impacts in the United States.”

http://www.globalchange.gov/

The report assembled by more than 300 experts guided by a 60-member Federal Advisory Committee produced the report, which was extensively reviewed by the public and experts, including federal agencies and a panel of the National Academy of Sciences.

The report distills scientific peer-reviewed research, technical reports and other sources. Scientists have documented that climate change — happening now at accelerating rates — is caused by human activities, leading to extensive and damaging impacts that the American people need to prepare for and respond to.

Explore highlights of the National Climate Assessment including an Overview, the report’s 12 overarching findings, and a summary of impacts by region. Download the extensive full report http://nca2014.globalchange.gov/highlights/overview/overview#intro-section
