Students are no longer giving educators an apple. Instead, public educators are now giving student Apples worth more than $500.

According to USA Today, Zeeland Public Schools in western Michigan has decided to give an iPad to every one of its 1,800 high school students as part of a new program. Educators’ longer-term plan is for every student in grades 3–12 to have an iPad in their hands.

Memoir Writing Prompts: Look to the Right, Look to the Left

Memoir Writing Prompts: Look to the Right, Look to the Left | Technology Uses in the Classroom for Newbies! | Scoop.it

It's not always about technology, we need a balance.  Good idea to jump start students writing a personal narrative.

Memoir Writing Prompt
1. There are many ways to get a fresh perspective. They all help you look at details in a new way. Assume you are going to write about your home (this could be, instead, a favorite childhood doll, your son or daughter, the day you got married, your first job — just pick something you would like to write about today). Imagine that you climb up a 50 foot tree that has suddenly appeared at the edge of your property. Write what the house (or whatever you have chosen) looks like from this vantage point.
