When we allow external forces to be the sole adjudicators of what is ethical, we create ethical problems.

Excellent argument and validation for Instructional Leaders to be at the forefront of the cutting edge in instruction.  That involves conceptual learning, instructional technology that redefines the learning, and quality instructional implementation both in classrooms and in professional development.

It is wise not to allow allow large dichotomies, perhaps false dichotomies to dominate this debate. Critical thinking, collaborative work and knowledge of content are all important and attainable for good teachers, as they have been. It is a matter of emphasis. Check

But, we are almost 15% of the way into the century. Why has it not happened? And, it has not. Not even where I used to work.

BOLD: Bold Leadership is Not What You Think

BOLD: Bold Leadership is Not What You Think | Teachning, Learning and Develpoing with Technology | Scoop.it

Bold leadership isn’t reserved for the chosen few, and it certainly isn’t limited to popular culture’s definition of big, brash, loud leadership.

Bold leadership is about the everyday behaviors we use to build trust, focusing on the needs of others, leading with confident humility, and vulnerably engaging with our people in authentic and genuine ways.

Be BOLD!

This is a pretty good article for teachers who are trying to divert from the traditional methods of leading the class. The main focus should be the steps given, which are easy to learn and broad enough to adapt any classroom. I would recommend others use this article as a guideline to how you should lead the class room. I like the idea of imagining the role as a "learner first."

Upward Leadership: Lead Up to Your Leader | Leadership Qualities List | Teachning, Learning and Develpoing with Technology | Scoop.it

Great article on leadership, check it out and provide me your input. Being a leader doesn't always mean being the one in charge.

Leadership can happen throughout all levels of the organization chart. Leadership is about influence. A leader knows how to Influence others to follow their guidance and direction.

Traditionally, we think of leaders who lead or influence those who are positioned below them. While this is often the case, leadership can actually occur in all directions.

===> A true leader will know how to influence those who work alongside them as well as those who work above them. <===

Knowing how to influence your supervisor involves some strategic leadership skills. The one who is positioned to lead you will not be swayed easily. This idea is often referred to as leading up or upward leadership.
