Yesterday, Google held a big event to unveil new products and product updates. (Click here for a summary of everything announced). One of the update announcements that jumped out to me was the announcement that soon you will be able to create shared photo pools through Google Photos.

As I mentioned a few posts ago, I have been using Google Photos to great effect whilst on holidays. This announcement now makes it very interesting for teachers and students. It should be much easier to share photos and therefore use the pictures as evidence for learning for one group of students to share 'how-to' photos with another group.

Not a big deal until you see how many ways and formats you can use.  So you can send it as a Word or PDF document; as a web page or even an epub document suitable for reading on a Kindle!  Alternatively you can email as an attachment in one of the formats or paste it within the email so the user doesn't even need to open the document - they can read it in full in the email!

With the Sibelius Scorch web plug-in having been updated for modern browsers last year, the ability to share Sibelius files online is seeing renewed interest. But how can one go about it while taking advantage of cloud storage like Google Drive?

A very clear explanation for how to export musical scores from Sibelius Scorch into Google Drive so that you can share them easily with students. It should work for any file - particularly if you can save it in pdf format, although this article talks about saving the file as HTML.

Not sure if you can add comments to the file which would be nice if you are creating pieces of work for a student musical ensemble.
