Updates from ISTE: 4 new tools to help teachers do what they do best

Updates from ISTE: 4 new tools to help teachers do what they do best | Using Google Drive in the classroom | Scoop.it
Gerald Carey's insight:
These four tools have some great uses in Education but it is the third one in this list that I want to focus on.  It is an improvement to Google Forms when using multiple choice or true/false questions.  In the new version, students can get immediate feedback at the end of the quiz if you use the "Answer Key' option! Students simply click on the "View your score" button.
You can also give feedback for correct and incorrect answers. You still get the benefits of knowing what each student got and, apparently, it is integrated with Google Classroom.

She also emphasises how collaboration and feedback have become much easier and more timely now with Google Docs.

Digital Literacy Dover: Formative Assessment with Google Forms and a Video

Digital Literacy Dover: Formative Assessment with Google Forms and a Video | Using Google Drive in the classroom | Scoop.it

A great hint I learned last year from a colleague Steve Voster at UWCSEA, is to repurpose a Google Form to help students engage with a simple video tutorial.

Gerald Carey's insight:

This is great and I don't do this enough.

However, I do show a lot of short videos and this is an excellent example of how to get feedback from students.

It has an example, some responses from students and a how-to video.

In fact, now that I think about it, it could be used for excerpts from texts, graph analysis and deconstruction of images.

Thanks Digital Literacy Blog!
