Marty Koenig's curator insight, September 29, 2013 11:51 PM

Great list! The first one is so true. I see a dozen investor pitches a week, and almost all of them are product pitches. What young entrepreneurs need to know is "it's not about the product".

Yes, you are enamored and passionate about your product, as you should be. Investors don't care. What they do care about is that you are solving a big problem for lots or people, and that you and your team are the right ones to accelerate and execute on your plans. Oh, and if you want to see what actual successful investor pitches look like, see here: http://bit.ly/FiverrInvestorPitchDeck

When a group of teenagers says Facebook "confuses and scares" them and makes their eyes hurt, there may be a problem.
Maribel Young's insight:

Hard to believe that Twitter or the likes may be the next Facebook.  Though I use social media for work (twitter) and personal (Facebook),  I'd categorize myself a bit as an informed lagger in some of these social medial techologies.  By choice it is not my preferred method of communications, and yes... I agree that facebook can be a bit confusing from a usability perspective.

Maribel Young's insight:

My son is color blind so I am sensitive to how colors are use and the need to add some background or texture.  Just yesterday he was playing a game which had a color blind setting, the colors of the baloons he had to pop stayed the same, but the game added a different shape for each color so he could match/target the shapes instead of the colors.

I only watched one or two and it is amazing to see the design work gone into making toilets attractive, effective, and efficient.  I don't advocate the use of 13 videos in a slide show (who has time to watch them all!)  but I have to admit that the visual helps pay attention to topic of a common every day toilet.
