The woman wanting a US election recount - over $2.5M raised

The woman wanting a US election recount - over $2.5M raised | Useful Information for Artists & the Earth | Scoop.it

Jill Stein (Green Party) will ask for a recount of US election votes to make sure voting systems weren’t hacked. More  than the $2 million needed to request recounts of the votes in the three states that swung the presidential election to Donald Trump has been raised.

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein said that she will ask for a recount of votes in the battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin if she could raise the funds.

Stein launched an online recount fundraising page seeking donations and it has raised more than the $2 million necessary to challenge for a recount in Wisconsin, which has a deadline of Friday.

Stein, who received a negligible number of votes in the three states, said in a statement that she will file for a recount in an “effort to check the accuracy of the machine-counted vote tallies.”

Tiger Beer Air-Ink Made from Pollution

Tiger Beer Air-Ink Made from Pollution | Useful Information for Artists & the Earth | Scoop.it

Tiger Beer is sponsoring Air‐Ink, an innovative range of pens, markers and spray cans made from recycled air pollution. Graviky Labs, Bangalore, an off-shoot of MIT Media Lab, Boston, spent three years designing unique devices to capture soot from vehicles’ exhausts. These were fitted to trucks, ferries, chimneys and even cranes around Hong Kong and India. The captured pollutants were then purified and turned into safe, reliable ink for everyday use. Overall, 150 litres of Air‐Ink has been produced, approximating to 2500 hours worth of typical diesel car emissions.  | read all  & see more photos  at theinspirationroom

Corona Beer founder makes villagers in his hometown, millionaires | Useful Information for Artists & the Earth | Scoop.it

THE billionaire founder of Corona beer has made his entire home village millionaires in his will.

Generous Fernandez died in August this year at 99 years of age.
His will left £169 million (A$$284m) to the residents of the village in Spain’s Leon province where he grew up in deep poverty as one of 13 siblings.  |  Read more ...
