PARARESCUE (MALES ONLY) - airforce.com | US Air Force Pararescue | Scoop.it
As a Pararescue specialist, you will parachute, scuba dive, rock climb or even snowmobile into hostile territory to get to a wounded Airman who needs your help. You'll be trained in emergency medical tactics, as well as in combat and survival skills so you can go anywhere necessary.
Andrew McMahon's insight:

This goes over how to become a Pararescue, which transfers out to be a paramedic/EMT in civilian life. This is what I would like to do outside of the airforce. Go into a fire department as a firefighter/EMT. Taking these two courses in the Air Force will give me all the training and experience I need to become what I want outside of it.

FIRE PROTECTION - airforce.com

FIRE PROTECTION - airforce.com | US Air Force Pararescue | Scoop.it
In this field, you'll be trained to deal with everything from brush fires to burning rocket fuel and hazardous material fires. You'll also be stationed on an Air Force base using the latest equipment and will occasionally help out local civilian fire departments when needed.
Andrew McMahon's insight:

I chose this topic because it's what I plan on doing during the Air Force and after it. The fire protection course gives you all of the information and training that you need in order to be a firefighter inside and outside of the Air Force. It gives you a college degree in fire science, which is what I would be going to college for anyways. Then I could take classes for my EMT program so I could be a paramedic as will.
