L’arbre en ville est un incroyable concentré de technologies qui agit 24 heures sur 24 sur le climat urbain et sur notre bien-être.

L’arbre citadin filtre votre air, retient les poussières et particules fines, piège une petite partie du carbone émis par un véhicule à moteur, gère l’eau des intempéries, atténue le bruit et les ardeurs du soleil, augmente la durée de l’asphalte de la rue, réduit notre facture de climatisation.

Pourtant, cet arbre précieux est toujours la première victime de toutes les crises économiques. Chaque fois qu’il faut réduire des dépenses, c’est sur le dos des plantations que se font les économies.

Il est temps de reconsidérer positivement les arbres urbains, car, même si ceux-ci représentent un coût pour la municipalité (plantation, entretien, taille, ramassage des feuilles, et finalement abattage), durant toute leur vie, ils contribuent à très peu de frais à l’amélioration de la qualité de l’air et au climat de la cité.

Chercheurs et autorités des villes commencent à sortir leurs calculettes pour évaluer scientifiquement le bénéfice que leur apportent les arbres de leur métropole.
