Really simple: Occupy Wall Street is an open source protest. This type of protest has been very effective over the last year in toppling regimes in north Africa. It's proving relatively successful in the US too.

A friend is challenging me about it toppling regimes there - the regimes is still in control - maybe the middle man has been cut out?

hi mark, the regimes "have" been toppled, but other factions of the elite are still in control ... revolutions are processes not one/off events ... we have not seen the end of the process in the middle east; lots of things can happen, including counter-revolutions ..

of course - the military being one of them. I imagine revolutions happening daily in the whole of life, very much the daily process.
