It's hard to resist rubbernecking when we pass an accident on the freeway. What's happening is none of our business, but we do it anyway. Delete the scoop?

Russia: A World Apart is a haunting evocation of the ruined country estates of the Russian aristocracy of the 18th and 19th centuries. Revolution, civil war, invasions, anarchy and casual indifference have conspired against many of the grand buildings of Russia's rich and complex past. The architectural riches of Moscow and St Petersburg still exist for everyone to see, but when photographer Simon Marsden and author Duncan Mclaren entered the Russian countryside, away from the obvious tourist trails, they encountered a very different world. A flock of birds flies across the sky in this painting, while the wallpaper around it peels away. The decay from damp and neglect is obvious, yet considering the fact that the house has been empty for the past 25 years, much of it still looks in pretty good condition.

Discover Hidden Toronto takes you from the Royal Ontario Museum to the gothic, ivy-covered arches of the University of Toronto on a tour of fascinating places and little-known history. Explore the stomping grounds of famous Canadians who helped abolish slavery, discovered insulin and fought off an invasion of Irish soldiers. Discover a hidden river, a miniature Victorian mansion, and learn why Toronto is called “Hogtown”. This hunt contains cameos by a lot of Johns: John Lennon, John F. Kennedy and Sir John A. Macdonald. Oh, and Justin Beiber. Each team requires a digital camera that can post photos to the internet. Delete the scoop?

“It is not my intention to try and convince you that ghosts exist,” Marsden said, “but rather to inspire you not to take everything around you at face value. I believe that another dimension, a spirit world, runs parallel to our own, and that sometimes, when the conditions are right, we can see into and become part of this supernatural domain. The mystical quality of my photographs reflects this ancient order and they attempt to reveal what is eternal.” Delete the scoop?

Meet at dusk to uncover the spicier side of old Toronto. Tales of intrigue, betrayal and revenge abound from the mass graveyard at Yorkville to the insane asylum which now houses our esteemed members of parliament, to the residences of some of this country’s founding fathers, some of whom are, shall we say, still hanging around. Armed with only a flashlight and your steadiest nerve, uncover some of Toronto’s grisly past while competing with other teams to collect the most correct answers within the time limit.
