One of the proper functions of government is the protection of individuals from the predations of the dishonest be they other individuals or corporations. When a government can no longer provide that basic service it means that society needs to consider changing that government. Is it perhaps time for a change in the U.S.? I think so.

On the morning of Dec. 19, 2012, in a Torrance courtroom, Larry Delassus' heart stopped as he watched his attorney argue his negligence and discrimination case against banking behemoth Wells Fargo.

The scariest part of this is that the judge was siding with Wells Fargo. If you know L.A. County Superior Court Judge Laura Ellison, you may want to ask her how that is consistent with any sense of justice. If she runs for office, you may want to remember this.

And if you bank with Wells Fargo, well watch your behind, but that's true of every bank.

From Washington state to Florida, surprising letters from banks have turned up in the mailboxes of at least a dozen people.
Kenneth Weene's insight:

I think we all know why this is happening. It is the banks toadying to the government is a little thing cloaked under the guise of the war on terror in the hope that the government bureaucracy will see them as being the good guys. The hell with all the shenanigans they pull raising debit car fees or foreclosing on the homes of deployed soldiers , etc. They helped fight terrorism by screwing around with some decent Arab American or legal immigrant. One more pathetic example of how dysfunctional we have become.
