Once again we see the GOP trying to deprive people of the right to vote. I have to ask once again, why would anybody support a party that was so opposed to democratic process?

Islam today is torn between those who would go back to a "purer religious society" and those who want the benefits of modern materialism and freedom. This is the real issue in the Muslim world, especially the Arab portion of it; and it is an issue which we in the "West" can not address.

Portman joins Flake in my list of previously respected senators, the ones I thought were honest even if they disagreed with me, but for whom now I have a distain. You don't try to mislead your constituents when we so clearly want gun control.

So the person who was screwing around with the response to Benghazi was a Republican water carrier; may there was a conspiracy after all, but whose?

No problem with guns - nah, not in this country.

Returning soldiers: We call them heroes, but we treat them like discarded sandwiches. There is something sadly wrong with our government and it can be summed up by the preoccupation with money instead of people, with the rights of corporations and organizations instead of the well-being of individuals.

Whatever happened to it's better for a hundred guilty people to go free than for one innocent person to be found guilty?

Was there anybody who didn't already know this? This Supreme Court thinks that corporations are direct descents from Adam and Eve or at least from Jesus Christ. They have lost the sense of proportion that T.R., Taft, and Wilson tried to give back to the country after the last corruption of the late nineteenth century.

While we in the U.S. and most of Europe battle over marriage equality for our gay and lesbian community, in the Middle East, to just get married without clergy is a major first step for civil rights. Congratulations to these two brave Lebanese Muslims, one Sunni and one Shia, whose love has taken precedence over the fractiousness of their respective religious communities.

This is what one might call a very sick idiot. I guess she never heard of delayed shock or the neurochemistry of pain. I hope people recognize that she is delusional.

When did Jeff Flake decide that money for his campaigns was more important than voting intelligently on behalf of his constituents?

It was an ill-timed decision made by beuraucrats in that supposedly limited government state.

There has been a definite failure to manage government in the way that we expect from the administration. This is clearly exacerbated by the absence of certain key people, such as a head of the IRS; but in the end it is a real failure by the president.

Does that mean we should give up on how we govern or we should demand better? I go with the second option because we cannot prosper nor achieve happiness without good government.

The soul pays a great price for going to war.

Once again we have a new low in the sicko group.

Why does our country have such an injustice system when we claim to be the land of justice and freedom?

Except this isn't a clear case of self-defense. He ran away from a woman who challenged him with a phone in her hand and then went past the goodies to steal to look for this lady and her kids in a crawl space. Something isn't quite kosher with this story. And why did she call her husband instead of 911? Nope, can we have Perry Mason weigh in on this one?

And, yes, I do believe in the right to defend yourself in your home and the right to own guns. Just not sure I believe this story.

Does anybody honestly believe that if the Jews of the world had the money and desire to buy a country they would pick Hungary? Now if they were talking New Zealand or Costa Rica, maybe even Holland, but Hungary? Always knew antisemites were dumb.

Flake is too much a coward to deal with the people who have a real issue with his stance on gun control.

The man is a weasel, and I had thought him honorable. He never offered an amendment to correct this supposed fault, and how would you differentiate online sales by friends versus commercial transactions? I know my friends' phone numbers; if I were a personal transaction, I'd phone or text them.
