Over 300 artists, including from France, Turkey and Brazil, turn in works for competition derided by UNESCO
Kenneth Weene's insight:

While I abhor the denial of the Holocaust and the suffering of millions of Jews, Gypsies, and others, I would be more outraged by the denial of the right of humorists to share their work in this competition just as I abhor efforts by Muslims to suppress cartoons about the Prophet. Chimp facing prospect of losing safest Labour seat in Scotland | NewsBiscuit

Chimp facing prospect of losing safest Labour seat in Scotland | NewsBiscuit | Upsetment | Scoop.it
Chico the Chimp, a chimpanzee who has represented the constituency of Fife South as a Labour MP since 1997 could be set to lose the party’s safest Scottish seat, according to the latest opinion polls which suggest that his majority of over 23,000 at the 2010 General Election is set to be overturned by the SNP in the May 7th general election. ‘The days when you could stick a Labour rosette on a chimp and expect to get elected in Scotland are over,' says The Herald’s political editor Fenton Barnes, although this was fiercely denied by Austin Mitchell, Labour MP for 'Great' Grimsby. 'For Chico to lose, there would need to be a huge swing, which is ironic because Chico normally likes huge swings; I know he has one with a tyre on the end of it in the garden of his constituency office’.
Kenneth Weene's insight:

Too many safe seats in the U.S. as well. Time for voters to think and evaluate. Get involved or you'll get the government you deserve and detest. Of course, in many cases a chimp would be an improvement.
