10-Year-Old Murder Defendant Shows Failure of U.S. Juvenile Justice System

10-Year-Old Murder Defendant Shows Failure of U.S. Juvenile Justice System | up2-21 | Scoop.it
While his alleged crime is the brutal murder of a 90-year-old woman, should a 10-year-old spend the rest of life in prison for it?
up2-21's insight:

You cannot tell me that a 10 year-old being placed in a juvenile detention setting, or given strong counseling, and a good mentor, would not be rehabilitated over time. Shame on the state of Pennsylvania, for taking a child of 10, and trying him as an adult. If you get a hold of this kid now, and give this kid the resources to change, he will. If you try him as an adult, and all he does is msit in prison, you waste a life, and that's a sin. This is something wee should all be up in arms about
