Welcome to Utah, the NSA's desert home for eavesdropping on America

Welcome to Utah, the NSA's desert home for eavesdropping on America | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it
The NSA's new $1.7bn facility in the heart of Mormon country has the potential to snoop on US citizens for decades to come
unspy's insight:

"If one had the opportunity to collect all the voice traffic in the US it would cost less than the Pentagon spends on paperclips. Storage these days is trivial, it's not a problem." A rack of servers the size of a fridge can store 100 TV channels' annual output, said Kahle. "What's slow to dawn on people is that this level of surveillance is technologically and economically within our grasp."

Not Impeaching Bush Is Sure Paying Off!

What failure to impeach Bush has done to legitimize his crimes is nothing compared to what it has done to delegitimize impeachment.  If a tyrannical president who liberals hated and who talked funny and who didn’t even pretend to be killing for some higher benevolent purpose can’t be impeached, then who can?

unspy's insight:

And the reason many of us wanted Bush impeached — as we said at the time — was to prevent that repetition and expansion, which we said was virtually inevitable if impeachment was not pursued.

Can You Hear Me Now?

New law cracks down on driving under the influence of drugs

New law cracks down on driving under the influence of drugs | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

OKLAHOMA CITY — Governor Mary Fallin just approved an amendment to House Bill 1441 that could take some drivers by surprise. The sub-section deals with the definition “under the influence.” What’s new, is that the wording now says that any amount of a Schedule 1 drug like Marijuana found in your system can put you behind bars if you’re driving.

unspy's insight:

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin must not have heard that insurance companies in states with legal marijujana have found that high drivers have less accidents.

22 Nauseating Quotes From Hypocritical Establishment Politicians About The NSA Spying Scandal

22 Nauseating Quotes From Hypocritical Establishment Politicians About The NSA Spying Scandal | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

Apparently many of our politicians misunderstood when they read the novel 1984 by George Orwell.  It wasn't supposed to be an instruction manual.  We should be thanking Edward Snowden for exposing the deep corruption that is eating away at our own government like cancer.  Now the American people need to pick up the ball and start demanding answers, because without a doubt we are going to see establishment politicians from both major political parties try to shut this scandal down.  Establishment Democrats and establishment Republicans both love the Big Brother surveillance grid that the U.S. government has constructed, and they are both making it abundantly clear that they will defend the NSA to the very end.  The following are 22 nauseating quotes from hypocritical establishment politicians that show exactly how they feel about the NSA spying scandal...

Chipotle becomes first US restaurant chain to voluntarily label GMOs

Chipotle becomes first US restaurant chain to voluntarily label GMOs | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

Chipotle has set the bar even higher, and by choice, delineating each and every ingredient used in its meats, beans, rice, and dressings, and clarifying which ones contain GMOs. The primary GMO offender, as you will notice on Chipotle's "Ingredients Statement" page, is soybean oil, which is reluctantly used in several of the chain's meat and rice products. In fact, this commercial frying and cooking oil appears to be one of the only, if not the only, GMO ingredient still used by Chipotle.

"Our goal is to eliminate GMOs from Chipotle's ingredients, and we're working hard to meet this challenge," explains the page. "For example, we recently switched our fryers from soybean oil to sunflower oil. Soybean oil is almost always made from genetically modified soybeans, while there is no commercially available GMO sunflower oil. Where our food contains currently unavoidable GM ingredients, it is only in the form of corn or soy.

FLASHBACK: Glenn Greenwald on Ron Paul

FLASHBACK: Glenn Greenwald on Ron Paul | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

Greenwald earned my respect long before he landed international focus as of late. Flashback to the last election cycle with his brilliant and honest assessment of Ron Paul....

"Ron Paul’s candidacy is a mirror held up in front of the face of America’s Democratic Party and its progressive wing, and the image that is reflected is an ugly one; more to the point, it’s one they do not want to see because it so violently conflicts with their desired self-perception."

unspy's insight:

[Ron Paul] ...advocates policy views on issues that liberals and progressives have long flamboyantly claimed are both compelling and crucial.

Obama's Dirty Drone War of Assassination

Obama's Dirty Drone War of Assassination | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

Every Tuesday, President Obama personally checks off the names of people he wants killed. George Bush, a bit more squeamish than Obama, never did that; but Mr Obama felt those decisions were the president’s responsibility: he “want[s] to keep his own finger on the trigger”, according to one report. A tidy, scheduled man, the President only picks his victims once a week, now called “Terror Tuesday”.

The Constitution Doesn’t Guarantee Safety, It Guarantees Privacy

Obama, like Bush before him, claims his most important job is to keep the American people safe.  Not true.  His job is to uphold and defend the Constitution which guarantees the privacy of all citizens but makes no mention of "safety" or "security". In fact, if war must be waged to defend America, that power rests with the Congress. The president then directs that war.

unspy's insight:

This is obviously a false choice and an admission that he knowingly violates the rights of U.S. citizens.

Did someone help Ed Snowden punch a hole in the NSA?

Did someone help Ed Snowden punch a hole in the NSA? | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

In this global-surveillance world, we need to ask new questions and think along different lines…. It’s likely that the probe Ron Paul has been pushing—audit the Federal Reserve—has already been done by those who control unlimited global surveillance. They already know far more than any Congressional investigation will uncover. If they know the deepest truths, they can use them to blackmail, manipulate, and control the Fed itself. Therefore….when looking for who might have helped Ed Snowden punch a hole in NSA, we should think about who the NSA has been spying on. Not the little guy, not the medium-sized guy, but a very big guy. Perhaps a Goldman Sachs or a JP Morgan

unspy's insight:

Goldman Sachs, Chase, and Morgan consider trillion-dollar trading markets their own private golden-egg farm. They run it, they own it, they manipulate it for their own ends... If NSA has been looking over their shoulders for the past 30 years, discovering all their knowledge, and operating a meta invasion, siphoning off enormous profits, NSA would rate as Enemy Number One.

7 Powerful Ways to Maintain Your Privacy and Integrity Online

7 Powerful Ways to Maintain Your Privacy and Integrity Online | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it
The recent NSA leaks from whistleblower Ed Snowden have publicly confirmed that digital privacy does not exist.  The federal government and intelligence agencies have direct server access to the world’s most popular sites and services including Facebook,...
unspy's insight:

Consider using a private and secure social network like Pidder.  This is a private social network that uses encrypted communication and offers the ability to remain anonymous.  If you are truly looking for ways to stay in touch with close ones in a uncompromised manner, this could be the site for you.  While it will not have the userbase of Facebook, this is still an excellent alternative for secure social networking.

The feature I like best is the dropmail which allow for secure communiations from anyone using RSA (an algorithm for public-key encryption). Here is my dropbox, if you want to try it.

We are advising veterans being visited by the FBI or the Secret Service to take the Fifth Amendment rather than answer questions that might end up with a diagnosis of PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder, which goes into the veteran’s file and can be used in the future to prevent the veteran from purchasing a firearm

unspy's insight:

Whitehead told WND he was convinced Operation Vigilant Eagle was still in operation targeting military veterans as potentially dangerous “right-wing extremists,” even though the DHS, the Department of Defense and the FBI have dropped since 2009 any specific reference to the programs.

While mainstream conservatives call for Hong Kong to extradite Snowden for trial, libertarian and civil libertarian groups have started a petition to get him pardoned. Why The Surveillance State Must Be Erased

Why The Surveillance State Must Be Erased | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

The right to privacy is an inherent right of natural law. No individual or government system should be allowed legal precedence to invade my privacy, and all people have the right to be treated as innocent until proven guilty rather than guilty until proven innocent. As an individual, I do not owe the collective, or the government, a constant update on whether or not I am a “threat”. In fact, I don’t owe anyone anything.

unspy's insight:

If someone continues to treat me as an enemy and constantly tramples my natural right to privacy, I am going to fight them, and I am going to hurt them, perhaps mortally. This is what people who support surveillance society need to understand; there will be consequences for their trespasses against the natural rights of others. There can be no negotiation.  There can be no compromise.  The surveillance state must be erased.

Sanity prevails: US Supreme Court rules that human genes are not eligible for patent protection | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

Had the Supreme Court upheld the patentability of human genes, it would have unleashed a horrifying new era of corporations and universities rushing to claim monopoly patent protection on every gene in the human genome. Virtually no one in the media covered this angle other than Natural News. We warned readers that everything found in nature could then be patented: blades of grass, insects, human ears, eye colors, hair colors... anything encoded with DNA.

The Piri Reis Map

The Piri Reis Map | UnSpy - For Liberty! | Scoop.it

The Piri Reis map shows the western coast of Africa, the eastern coast of South America, and the northern coast of Antarctica. The northern coastline of Antarctica is perfectly detailed. The most puzzling however is not so much how Piri Reis managed to draw such an accurate map of the Antarctic region 300 years before it was discovered, but that the map shows the coastline under the ice. Geological evidence confirms that the latest date Queen Maud Land could have been charted in an ice-free state is 4000 BC.
