Are kids today just born addicted to the Internet? You've probably "seen the ease at which a toddler can operate an iPhone." 


Research shows that an overwhelming number of the American population is mildly addicted to technology.  And it begins with our children.  The cost for treating this addiction with the help of a professional?  "Just under $20,000." 


Seems to me we could make a personal commitment to ourselves and learn how to be more mindful about balancing online time with real life activities by simply turning off the smartphones, tablets and computers for a brief period of time each day.  The added benefit:  It's FREE!

You don't have time to work -- to play with the kids -- to breathe.  Heck!  You don't even have time to read this insight!


And what do we do "If there’s a gap of space, of breath?  We reach for our smart phones. 150 times a day, on average. Pretty stupid."


This blogger reminds us that Life is too short.  Life is too sweet.  And  not something to be ignored.

Number 3. on the list is, Be Present As Much As Possible. When we live hooked to life's distractions the present dissolves and the things of real value are missed.


Each day seems to be gone before we accomplish anything of substance when we avoid mindfulness and instead embrace more and more distractions.


I have a friend who told me with pride that his cell phone either vibrates or dings when he receives a new email. My friend is checking his email many times each hour. I had no response to his good news... Are you hooked on distractions more than you know? Think about it.

Doing simple things like exercise, watching what we eat and relaxing could cut the number of drugs we take as well as visits to the doctor. Think About It.
