It takes consciousness to grow consciousness -- like fuel to a flame.  The good news is that you already have it -- you simply need to add the fuel. 

 

From Steve Pavlina, here are 10 ways to become more conscious:

 

  1. Accept truth.  Whatever you are afraid to know lowers your consciousness.
  2. Have courage.  It is the gatekeeper between unconscious growth and conscious growth.
  3. Search for signs of unconscious cruelty and disconnection in your life.
  4. Get clear about what you want; clarity focuses your mind.
  5. Improving your ability to concentrate will make you more conscious.  Distraction lowers consciousness.
  6. First and foremost, know thyself; knowledge raises consciousness.
  7. Logic is a powerful tool of consciousness when used correctly.
  8. Seek out others you perceive to be at a higher level of consciousness than you are.
  9. Take care of your physical body -- your primary means of interacting with the world.
  10. Intention is fundamental. Be determined to raise your consciousness.

The Seattle Seahawks lead coach is on "a mission to bring a gentler and more conscious approach to the game of unnecessary roughness." 

 

The results?  Team members are realizing that meditation is just as important as lifting weights or practicing on the field.  There is more positivity, presence of mind and compassion -- all of which extends to how players treat one another and play ball. 

 

And this is just the beginning.  The Seahawks see this as a first step to untimately changing the entire football franchise "to be more sensitive to the physical and mental well-being of everyone."

From the article:  The image of yoga is often lamented for becoming commercialized and homogenized, only for the young, female and fit. But, when we hear things like this, a team essentially changing the face of football, we can only imagine it is will change the face of yoga in process.

Consciously creating anything can be summed up in just three words.  Feel Good Now.  That's the premise of Tharyn Taylor who writes that mindfulness, meditation and happiness are the "essential keys to conscious creation" in your business (or in any part of your life, for that matter).

 

How to achieve conscious business creation?  Mr. Taylor shares three simple steps:

 

(1)  Keep it simple.  Mindfulness is the “quality or state of being conscious or aware of something”. Meditation is the practice by which you strengthen concentration and is directly linked to an increased sense of mindfulness. Feeling good has a direct link to creating better future experiences.

(2) The formula.  Meditation + Mindfulness + Feel Good Now.  Know it.  Do it.  It's not easy -- especially continuing a habit of feeling good in each present moment.  But if you continue to practice, it's "worth every once of effort".

(3) Leverage every advantage.  A wise business person leverages every known advantage in their business in order to grow.  This includes believing (and practicing) that mindfulness, meditation, and feeling good are fundamental keys to your success.
