Like anything worth having in life, balance requires work.  It's also going to require courage, conscious intent and sacrifice.

 

"At some point, if we really want balance, we need to be willing to set boundaries and stick to them."  We also need to stop pointing a finger. Your imbalance is not someone else's fault.

 

Francine Ward, attorney and author of this blog, understands that she cannot have it all and is grateful for it.  You're going to end of sacrificing something, so believing in the idea that you can have everything is nothing more than a set up for disappointment.

 

If you truly want balance in your life, you need to make some tough choices.  Stop doing certain things; stop allowing others to create urgencies in your life and learn the power of the word "NO".

It's a familiar argument, if we give up a time-wasting habit we will fill the time with a new time-wasting habit. I'm not at all convinced by either this or that argument.


We are all capable of achieving balance in our daily lives. You and I are not destined to live our lives tied to habits. We are not helpless in the face of time-wasting opportunities. We have a choice...
