Kathleen McClaskey's insight:

"This video series introduces key Common Core concepts in 6th grade mathematics. Each video focuses on building conceptual understanding of a topic, so that students understand the “how” and “why” behind mathematical problem solving.

Use these videos with your students as topical introductions to topics including integers, the concept of ratios, unit rates, percent, and division with fractions."

PBS Learning Media has put together a set of videos to support learners in math. Take a look around and you will discover brand new, original content from PBS including Peg + Cat (Pre-K) and the PBS Math Club (Grades 6-8)!

Mr. Faleder, a 5th Grade teacher in Montgomery County Schools gives students choices of which center they would like to use that will best support their learning of math concepts. He also used these math centers to give them options in ways they could express what they knew and understood in math. Take a few minutes to review the video on how he applied UDL principles in math.
