I feel pretty strongly about this whole SuperPAC thing, about the way that money in politics has so dramatically bastardized the election process.
Long ago it was "one person/one vote," but now it seems to be "one dollar/one vote."
According to this NPR video (full credit where credit is due), it's not even that anymore... Seems that I'm worth over $5.00 because I live in New Hamphsire. Only Nevada's denizens are worth more than I am and, if you're in California, you're worth pretty much nothin'.

The national rape-related pregnancy rate is 5.0% per rape among victims of reproductive age (aged 12 to 45); among adult women an estimated 32,101 pregnancies result from rape each year. Among 34 cases of rape-related pregnancy, the majority occurred among adolescents and resulted from assault by a known, often related perpetrator. Only 11.7% of these victims received immediate medical attention after the assault, and 47.1% received no medical attention related to the rape. A total 32.4% of these victims did not discover they were pregnant until they had already entered the second trimester; 32.2% opted to keep the infant whereas 50% underwent abortion and 5.9% placed the infant for adoption; an additional 11.8% had spontaneous abortion.

The smarty pants "she really wanted it" crowd may not agree with the legal totals, but what ever they recognize as the true, blessed, and deemed holy number of rapes, one out of every twenty will end up in a pregnancy. I found it very interesting that during the 20th century 95% of babies were born in the home using a midwife. However, today in age it's less than 1%. They say that midwifery fell down so much is because its not classified as an actual profession. Approximately 85% of women start labour with no complications therefor, the need for all the medicines and equipment is unnecessary. Ad even though midwifery isn't a profession, they are classified as Certified Nurse Midwives or Certified professional midwives.

Fact One: We do have the Electoral College and in that sense, along with the increase of democrats in other elected positions, it was a loud & clear message. Fact Two, everything Rachel Maddow listed was a fact for the nation -- and to be celebrated in the spirit of us as a nation. Fact Three, when it comes to compromise, the democrats are not to blame; republicans declared their refusal to participate in government, and fulfilled that one promise. Need more facts? Let me know.

I don't view a listing of the facts as destructive. Maddow listed facts ~ sure, facts that progressives like, but facts nevertheless. It's like Party Recon over there, didn't watch/listen to the whole piece or they would have known that facts are needed, not only to have discussions, but for having reality based discussions, something too many, especially those on the far-right like FOX & their viewers, are incapable of facing.
