Super Snake

Super Snake | All about water, the oceans, environmental issues | Scoop.it

The Green Anaconda is the largest snake in the world, growing to 29 feet long and weighing up to 550 pounds. Freaked out yet? Their super duper skills are being able to squeeze the life out of their food with muscular long bodies AND- swallow large prey whole like wild pigs, deer, birds and turtles.

Their jaws have very stretchy ligaments. I'll say! Once fed, they can just chill out for a few months and digest. Baby anacondas break out of the egg with instant abilities to swim and hunt. So they are basically perfect killing machines? Let's add these guys high on the list of species to avoid when trekking through South America. Unless of course we're traveling with Ice Cube.

This is sad to hear that human's plastic bags are causing harm to marine life. But, I'm glad that they are at least saying something. All three methods are smart and have potential. I think that this is a great eye-opening article for reducing the waste from bags. Overall, I think that we should all try hard to reduce the wast from bags.

Robert K--Little Tub Harbour, Tobermory, Ontario Canada

Robert K--Little Tub Harbour, Tobermory, Ontario Canada | All about water, the oceans, environmental issues | Scoop.it

The Robert K. is one of four wrecks that met their fate in Little Tub Harbour.

She is likely the first one you will encounter as you suit up at the specially built platform designed to make it easier for divers to access this extremely popular site. In fact, as you walk into the water if you wander just a few steps to the left you will likely walk right over the Robert K.

This wreck is shallow and pretty broken up, with nothing particularly spectacular about it, but for ALOT of Ontario divers who do their open waters in Ontario this is the first wreck they ever see.

Also in this bay you will be able to find the broken up remains of the Alice G., Bob Foote, and Joan and Alex, along with some debris that has been dumped here over the years.
