Conservationists have attributed a dwindling demand for shark fins to China’s crackdown on corruption which has forced a decline in lavish banquets.  “We are seeing a reduction in demand from China. Hong Kong is also showing a significant decline in consumption,” said Angelo Villagomez, a shark specialist with the US-based conservation group the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Divers hop in Giant Springs: Excess native vegetation is removed to enhance vie

Passersby at Giant Springs State Park got a little surprise Saturday when they saw scuba divers pop their heads out of the water.

Members of the Electric City Dive Club were in the water pulling three types of native aquatic vegetation that had built up in the springs: water speedway, watercress and yellow monkey flower.

Alot has been said about the effects of polution but not much has been done. A 19 year old inventor finds ways as to how we could decrease the rate of pollution in the oceans. The plastics that will be taken out from these oceans could be recycled by sending them to the plastic processing centres. This will be another way to bring profit in the world.

This is Eunice aphroditois, also known as the bobbit worm, a mix between the Mongolian death worm, the Graboids from Tremors, the Bugs from Starship Troopers, and a rainbow — but it’s a really dangerous rainbow, like in Mario Kart. And it hunts in pretty much the most nightmarish way imaginable, digging itself into the sea floor, exposing a few inches of its body — which can grow to 10 feet long — and waiting.
