The Indonesian Navy have arrested 10 divers allegedly trying to steal from shipwrecks recently. Five of the divers were Vietnamese nationals, while five others were Indonesian. Western Fleet Maritime Security Task Force chief Cmdr. Harjo Susmoro told local press on Sunday that the group were detained by officials during a

Resting at around 90 feet (25 meters) off Safaga, just south of Hurghada, the MV Salem Express is one of the most controversial wrecks in the Red Sea. Starting its career as a roll-on, roll-off ferry servicing Safaga and Jedda in Saudi Arabia, it sank after striking one of the infamous Hyndman Reefs on December 17, 1991. The ship went down only 20 minutes after striking the reef, taking numerous passengers with it.

On March 22, 1966, an unusual hoard of treasure was found by construction workers on a building site in the village of Fishpool, near present day Cambourne Gardens, England. The treasure was comprised of 1,237 coins, four rings, four pieces of jewelry, and two lengths of chain. The hoard was unusual because it contained both coins and jewelry made entirely of gold, which made it easier for historians to date.
