UP TO US

UP TO US | Uncens*red | Scoop.it

A beautiful piece written by my friend Hiliary.

UP TO US:
I can't stand it when people decide that it's alright to settle for less than they've always dreamed of. I can't stand to see this lost hope, these forgotten dreams, and the followed reluctant acceptance. There's not a single person who doesn't deserve the very best. I hope you agree.
I can't stand that only some of us are legally allowed to love. Only some of us get to eat, pursue an education, call some place home, and go to a doctor. Only some of us get the opportunities we all desereve.
The world has settled for less than its best and i can't stand it.
Imagine the potential, imagine the possibility.
Imagine if everyone lived a life they could be proud of, excited for. If everyone made it their mission to make someone else's day every day, even if just in simple ways; i think we'd have a start.
Love can exist everywhere. I know it can. I've seen its beauty sneak through the trees and the water and the helping hands of the earth. Hope, kindness, and peace could rule the world.
There's so much to do, a whole world to save and i'm just sitting here.
We're all just sitting here.
I'm ready when you are.
