National Center on UDL launches UDL Series

On November 17, 2011, the National Center on UDL (www.udlcenter.org) will introduce a new professional learning resource, the UDL Series. We invite you to join us and ask you to share this announcement with others. The UDL Series is a free online collection of rich media presentations (typically 15-20 minutes in length) that help educators to build UDL understanding, implementation skills, and leadership ability. The first session, entitled “Learner Variability and UDL,” features Drs. David Rose and Todd Rose discussing how UDL addresses systematic learner variability. It also includes real examples of how two educators apply the principles of UDL to meet varied learner needs. Once launched, the UDL Series will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at www.udlseries.udlcenter.org.

Among the beneficiaries of thinking differently about tools for learning will be the lifelong learners for whom learning will be a constant as long as they live

Prezi

A short introduction to Prezi. Prezi is used as platform for bridging linear and non-linear information, and as a tool for both for free-form brainstorming and structured presentation. Text, images, videos and other presentation media are placed upon the canvas, and can be grouped together in frames. Users then designate the relative size and position between all presentation objects and may pan and zoom in and between these objects. For linear presentations, users can construct a prescribed navigation path.
