Lissa Marques's insight:

This simple infographic says a lot without even having that many words. I love how the simple illustrations really portray the characters' personalities even though the detail is limited.

A Pro Designer Shares the Psychology of Font Choices [Infographic] | Typography+Infographics | Scoop.it
Fonts, like color, express personality. Express your brand's personality by chosing the right font for your logo.
Lissa Marques's insight:

A fun infographic showing how each font has an emotion and feel to it that can speak to your audience subconsciously. As a designer, part of my job is to get that association right to enforce the message of the design. Even though 2 fonts looks similar, once you look at each letter, you realize that a certain "R" or "S" is better over the other for what you want to express. #fontgeek

Lissa Marques's insight:

Type can be the "hero" of any work. When you abstract type enough to where it works as art and subtly communicates the message of a poster, then it's most powerful. I love this specific poster here because not only is it beautiful, it has dimension and draws the view in to read the text surrounding it.

We are dangerdust. We love chalk.Despite our overwhelming workload at Columbus College of Art & Design we bring it upon ourselves to create a chalkboard every week. We have taken over the chalkboard on the third floor of Crane and every Monday a new board appears.Follow us. Love us.dangerdustccad@gmail.com
Lissa Marques's insight:

This is a wonderful group of people that make a new chalkboard quote every week, despite what their homework is. I think we as creatives need to force ourselves to do something outside of our work to keep that inner creative being happy and in tune. I'm way guilty of this too, so I'm posting this as a reminder to myself that we all need to step away from our work and make art that comes from our soul. Even if it's nothing as beautiful as these chalk drawings, we need to explore, make mistakes and ultimately have fun.

Working at a desk job has its perks, but it can also be very unhealthy. This is a great infographic giving you some pointers to improve your health in a sedentary job. The stretches are my favorite part because I'm constantly using a mouse and staring at a screen.

Lissa Marques's insight:

This is a great exercise that just so happens to be both good for the mind and soul. Using type to reinforce the message is something designers strive for. Type can simultaneously be the image and word.
