Tweet others the way you want to be tweeted: 15 lessons I’ve learned on Twitter | Twitter for Teachers | Scoop.it

Published July 7, 2011 | By Debra

A year ago I was curious about Twitter. I knew about Facebook but I thought, what is this Twitter thing all about? I got to playing with it and I have to say it has been one of the most incredible social experiences of my life (and trust me, I am not the most technical person in the world).

Gust MEES: I agree with Debra, read more, very interesting...:

How to solve a difficult problem: Work on it as long and as hard as you can. When you run into an issue that you can not figure out, walk away and do something completely different. Get a good nights rest.

After waking up or upon working on something different, you will unexpectedly get that aha moment where the answer or possible answers come to you.

Do not waste time struggling with an issue, let your subconscious kick in and help you figure it out.

A Beautiful Sketchnote on How Teachers Can Use Twitter for Professional Development ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Twitter for Teachers | Scoop.it
Twitter is a powerful  social networking tool with huge potential for teachers professional development.  In a relatively short span of time, Twitter evolved into one of the best educational social networking platforms of choice for educators and teachers. It has also become an essential element in teachers life-long learning and a key driver of professional development.

In a recent post I shared here a few days ago, I featured 10 effective ways teachers can leverage the power of Twitter to grow professionally. However, today as I was wading through my Pinterest feeds I stumbled upon this beautiful sketchnote from Langtwiches on the same topic I covered in the aforementioned post: Twitter for professional development. I liked this sketchnote and decided to share it with you. You can also check this  Pinterest board for similar sketchnotes.

How Twitter is Reinventing Collaboration Among Educators

How Twitter is Reinventing Collaboration Among Educators | Twitter for Teachers | Scoop.it

Before the advent of Twitter, most educators I know had limited opportunities to collaborate with colleagues outside their building. Some subscribed to listservs or participated in online forums, but these outlets lacked critical mass; teachers also networked at in-person conferences and training sessions, but these isolated events didn't provide ongoing support.

Enter Twitter. I've heard many educators say that Twitter is the most effective way to collaborate and that they've learned more with Twitter than they have from years of formal professional development.

twitter alone might not be sufficient, as we (or most of us) not 'always online', we have to do other things. combining twitter with a mechanism to comb through the # and compile personalized feed, would be useful.

rt is one of the most underutilized resources in today’s ELA classroom. The Roman poet Horace claimed, “A picture is a poem without words” meaning art and written word are different mediums of expression. Art offers students a break from written words while continuing to develop the same skill set needed to be successful readers through challenging students to think both critically and analytically.

Here are a few examples of how I use art:

101 Tweet-Tastic Tools for 2013

101 Tweet-Tastic Tools for 2013 | Twitter for Teachers | Scoop.it

As much as I love Twitter, I have to admit I haven’t seen that familiar blue Twitter home page in quite a while. Why? because although Twitter is amazing, I can only fully leverage it by using a range of Twitter tools.

I’ve written several blog posts on Socialable about some of my favorite and most used Twitter tools but I thought it would be a good idea to create a series of 101 of the top social media and blogging tools.  So here is the first in the series – and it made sense to start with Twitter seeing as it’s my social media “weapon of choice” and generates over 50% of the traffic to Socialable.

101 herramientas para Tuitear: un buen repaso de casi todas las aplicaciones útiles que hay por ahí.... y a todas estas, ¿qué herramienta le echas en falta al twitter?

Eduardo Area Sacristan's curator insight, March 14, 2013 11:40 AM
