One of the benefits of Moodle in the workplace is that it is so much more than a traditional LMS. Moodle was created as a collaborative learning system, long before the term ‘social learning’ became popular. We know that most learning in the workplace is done informally, so we have focused our infographic on how Moodle can be used to support the 70:20:10 learning framework, whereby 70% of learning is through experience, 20% through other people and 10% through formal, structured learning.

The digital world is a vast expanse of learning and entertainment. But it is in this digital world that kids are also exposed to many risks, such as cyberbullying, technology addiction, obscene and violent content, radicalization, scams and data theft. The problem lies in the fast and ever evolving nature of the digital world, where proper internet governance and policies for child protection are slow to catch up, rendering them ineffective.

Moreover, there is the digital age gap. The way children use technology is very different from adults. This gap makes it difficult for parents and educators to fully understand the risks and threats that children could face online. As a result, adults may feel unable to advise children on the safe and responsible use of digital technologies. Likewise, this gap gives rise to different perspectives of what is considered acceptable behaviour.

So how can we, as parents, educators and leaders, prepare our children for the digital age? Without a doubt, it is critical for us to equip them with digital intelligence.

Disruptive changes to business models will have a profound mpact on the employment landscape over the coming years. Many of the major drivers of transformation currently affecting global industries are expected to have a significant impact on jobs, ranging from significant job creation to job displacement, and from heightened labour productivity to widening skills gaps. In many industries and countries, the most in-demand occupations or specialties did not exist 10 or even five years ago, and the pace of change is set to accelerate. By one popular estimate, 65% of children entering primary school today will ultimately end up working in completely new job types that don’t yet exist.

In such a rapidly evolving employment landscape, the ability to anticipate and prepare for future skills requirements, job content and the aggregate effect on employment is increasingly critical for businesses, governments and individuals in order to fully seize the opportunities presented  by these trends—and to mitigate undesirable outcomes.

Past waves of technological advancement and demographic change have led to increased prosperity, productivity and job creation. This does not mean, however, that these transitions were free of risk or difficulty. Anticipating and preparing for the current transition is therefore critical. As a core component of the World Economic Forum’s Global Challenge Initiative on Employment, Skills and Human Capital, the Future of Jobs project aims to bring specificity to the upcoming disruptions to the employment and skills landscape in industries and regions—and to stimulate deeper thinking about how business and governments can manage this change. The industry analysis presented in this Report will form the basis of dialogue with industry leaders to address industry-specific talent challenges, while the country and regional analysis presented in this Report will be integrated into national and regional public-private collaborations to promote employment and skills.

Los E-portafolios integran la investigación, innovación y apropiación social del conocimiento, donde el aprendizaje activo se enmarca desde el enfoque construccionista, estableciendo una relación sinérgica con el pentágono de competencias TIC (MEN, 2013, 9), a partir de la formulación del Modelo Espiral de Competencias TIC-TAC-TEP (Pinto, Cortés, Díaz, Rodríguez, Atrio & Alfaro, 2014). Objetivo. Desarrollar un programa de formación construccionista en tecnología educativa basado en el diseño, implementación y evaluación de E-portafolios en docentes universitarios. Materiales y métodos. Se adelantó una investigación evaluativa de tipo mixto (cualitativo-cuantitativo), que contó con la participación de 30 docentes, que asistieron a un Diplomado en Tecnología Educativa y fueron evaluados con la técnica de rúbricas de competencias. Resultados. En los principales hallazgos de orden cualitativo, se resalta que los E-portafolios evidencian una apropiación de la tecnología educativa aplicada al aprendizaje activo, con mayores niveles de uso de tecnologías de información y comunicación (TIC) y tecnologías para el aprendizaje y el conocimiento (TAC), sin alcanzar el dominio aplicado de las tecnologías del empoderamiento y la participación (TEC). En el  orden  cuantitativo,  se  obtuvo  una  calificación general de (7.4/10) en los indicadores de evaluación del E-portafolio, los cuales presentan correlaciones directamente proporcionales y estadísticamente significativas  al  99 %, con un rango que oscila entre r: .75 y r: .95. Conclusiones. Los resultados permiten resaltar la importancia estratégica del  E-portafolio, como puente interactivo del intercambio en redes de aprendizaje colaborativo, impactando las prácticas pedagógicas en la construcción de nuevos escenarios de identidad digital e innovación educativa.
