webMD is a good website and source to go to when wanting to learn about teenage depression and suicide and attempt of suicide. It goes into the symptoms, explaining why teenagers get depression, can depression run in families and how is teen depression diagnosed. This information is really important to know because the issue of depression has become a rising topic and people especially parents should be aware because teenagers have the ability to walk around like their is nothing wrong and make it seem like their stressed out or just having minor problems and it could escalate into something big like depression. So parents need to be more aware and get information on this because its happening and it can happen to anyone. Ryan's parents are always busy and didn't have time for him and probably wasnt aware of how he was feeling and proabably could've helped prevented his attempt of suicide if thety at least had some insight of what was wrong with him and seeking the help he needed.
the waterfall is significant in the book because that is where ryan goes to think and clear his mind its where he can go that he can feel free and get away from everything his parents that treat him like a suicide patient and the stress of going to school with students judging him and looking at him like he's going to flip out or something. the waterfall is pretty peaceful to where you can jump in and swim for a little bit just to feel the water on your skin.
In the book ryan loves to go to the waterfall and think and clear his head he apparently he's not the only one that goes there to clear his head because thats where nikki goes as well thats how he met her. Then what comes into play his how one small thing can bring two different people together and end up having more in common than you think.
Sometimes there's no easy way out. Victor hates his life. He has no friends, gets beaten up at school, and his parents are always critic...
both books have the same feel but different stories, the main character in try not to breathe Ryan doesn't have any friends at his school he's fresh out of the mental institution and wants to try and attempt a normal life he feels he cant do that because of his parents and he feels he has no one to talk to because no one understands how he feels about what he did and how he feels now. In the book cracked the main character Victor has a little worse then Ryan he is being bullied, he has no friends, and his parents never fail to criticize him. He takes his moms pills and finds himself in a pysch ward with the bully that beats him up everyday. So things will get worse before they get better with him but you can say Ryan and Victor both feel like they have no one to talk especially friend wise and home life doesnt make the situation better with criticizism from their parents. They both need to find themselves and figure out how to take control of their life before its to late and let their experiences make them a better person.

This documentary goes well with the book the documentary talks about a forest in japan that is common for people to go there and attempt to commit suicide or go through with it and a lot of people usually go with it. The doumentary was explaining how the people that felt they were determined to die would come and immediately hang themselves, and the people that were still undecised about their lives would bring some string in the forest to guide them to find their way out if it was decided they werent going to do it. This documentary relates to the book by the main character ryan attemping suicide and afterwards getting help for his illness but it was said in the documentary that the ones that are undecised would right a note to explain why they wanted to kill themselves and in one case it explained that they were tortured by society. Ryan on the other hand was tortured but he felt like an outcast.
This article relates to try not to breathe because the main character ryan suffered from depression and tryed to commit suicide so this article kind of goes into why it is caused and why would someone like Ryan feel the way he did it goes into it doesnt matter the age, the gender, the money you have no matter how good or bad your life can be anyone can fall into depression and thought of suiciede and everyone has their own reasons for why they might even think about comitting suicide or actually attempting to do.
Learning to live is more than just choosing not to die, as sixteen-year-old Ryan discovers in the year following his suicide attempt. Des...
I must say that try not to breathe was a great read. I really enjoyed reading the book the whole topic was interesting to me which was about a number of things depression, suicide, secrets, etc.. The book was not a boring book where the main character talks about their feelings and why they did what they did. Instead the the main character is searching for a way to break out of his wall he feels he stuck behind and not be seen as that guy that tryed to killed himself. And Nikki is a sponky, sponataneus, girl whos different from what Ryan is used to and the funny thing is crazy how you think the most different people can somehow someway make a connection with each other.
In the book try not to breathe the main character Ryan is having problems he's the ony child and his mom is over protective and his dad is always working he was always seemed to be looked at in school as the outcast. Ryan is now fresh out of the mental hospital due to attempt of suicide and he's trying to figure out how to reboot his life back to somewhat normal. He lives by a waterfall and goes there often to think and he meets this girl named nikki who is demanding and relentless and not a affraid to get to know Ryan and ask him questions about his attempt of suicide, she changes his whole world he has never met a girl quite like nikki. They become good friends and somewhat attracted to each other and she's what Ryan needs right about now someone to trust they both need that so Ryan can start living again.
the theme of the book would be to not let a something no matter the size stop you from living your life, life is to short to not be happy its better to live and let live. It's important to meet new people see new things make the best out of everything never live life regreting. Ryan learned that throughout the book when he meet nikki she opened him up to new ideas of thinking that bettered him in the end. One of the biggest mysteries in life would be taking two people with two different lifestyles, two different ways of thinking and somehow someway they can make a connection.
