Printing Solar Panels in the Backyard [Video 4min]

Imagine what you might do if you could print your own solar panels. That's kind of the dream behind Shawn Frayne and Alex Hornstein's Solar Pocket Factory -- although they see it more as the "microbrewery" of panel production rather than a tool for everyone's garage.

With over $70,000 of backing from a successful Kickstarter campaign, the inventors are now working on refining the prototype.

If all goes well, by April they'll have a machine that can spit out a micro solar panel every few seconds. In the meantime, Frayne stopped by Flora Lichtman's backyard with a few pieces of the prototype to explain how the mini-factory will work.

2A Ancient Sound Theories

The theory of music traces its roots to the earliest intellectual pursuits      of the human species. When humankind sought to understand the cosmos, it      did so through a science of harmonic tone relationship. It sought to both      explain and experience the universe as a fundamental vibration, a Primal      Sound, which manifested itself in the human world through a relationship      of tones. It was understood that through developing ones’ sensitivity to      harmonic relationships, a person could come to understand and experience      the harmony between heaven and earth. This, in turn, would aid in creating    a harmony within the individual and within society.

Russia's small-scale organic agriculture model may hold the key to feeding the world ~ RiseEarth

Russia's small-scale organic agriculture model may hold the key to feeding the world ~ RiseEarth | True Inventions, Environment, Suppressed Technologies and improvements. | Scoop.it

A far cry from the unsustainable, chemical-dependent, industrialized agriculture system that dominates the American landscape today, Russia's agricultural system, which is not technically a system at all, is run by the people and for the people.

Thanks to government policies there that actually encourage autonomous family farming, rather than cater to the greed of chemical and biotechnology companies like they do here in the states, the vast majority of Russians are able and willing to grow their own food on privately-owned family plots known as "dachas."

Russia's Private Garden Plot Act, which was signed into law back in 2003, entitles every Russian citizen to a private plot of land, free of charge, ranging in size from 2.2 acres to 6.8 acres. Each plot can be used for growing food, or for simply vacationing or relaxing, and the government has agreed not to tax this land. And the result of this effort has been phenomenal, as Russian families collectively grow practically all the food they need.

OSIS #01: György Egely - Cold Fusion [Project Foxhound - foxhound.tv]

--- For Non-Hungarian viewers -------------------------- This is an interview with György Egely about cold/dusty fusion which is a modern, cheap, renewable, sustainable method for energy-production and heating.
Naomie Mullins's comment, September 26, 2012 7:08 AM
Criminals often deny
everything, as long as they are not proven wrong. But until then they just deny, deny, deny. I always say that
we need to see things with our eyes wide open in nature. Flip all the rocks, and look under them. We have to
check every opportunity, because everywhere we look, we can witness the destruction of nature, and the
degradation of the human environment. A drastic system change is needed. Not only in politics, but primarily
in technology, in the way we relate to our environment, in the kind of world we will pass on. One of the big
surprises for me was that warm (not hot) or cold fusion processes are used by nature too. Not only at the
high levels of development, like the vertebrates or primates, but also at the levels of bacteria
Naomie Mullins's comment, September 26, 2012 7:09 AM
I did my studies at the Technical University of Budapest as a thermal‐power engineer, which I had finished in
the '70s, and started working at the Central Research Institute for Physics (KFKI) of the Hungarian Academy of
Sciences. I worked there for 15 years as a researcher on nuclear power plant accidents, so my background is
primarily energy transfer, hydrodynamics. I was always interested in this, but in a slightly wider aspect. I
always thought that engineers should look at biology as an example for patterns. So I still think very strongly
today that a lot can and should be learnt from life, the phenomena of life, and the living and non‐living
nature. The issue of sustainable development in biology has already been solved by the nature for millions of
years. So what works there, could be used in technology. That is my motto for life. That is the subject of
never‐ending debates among academy circles, because they're stuck at the end of the 19th century. I think
that for example biology shows us phenomena in paraphysics, which has not been worked out by
contemporary science. Unfortunately, this is why ‘criminal strategy’ is chosen by them.
Naomie Mullins's comment, September 26, 2012 7:18 AM
3 major innovative power generation techniques. The first of these is what can be
seen at tornadoes and spiral galaxies. In these examples the conservation of energy is violated. The second is
when we tap into the energy of oscillating vacuum, which exists everywhere. It is just not that easily
accessible. Finally, the third great opportunity is the peaceful nuclear fusion, namely cold or warm fusion.
This title is a bit misleading, because we relate to the process of hot fusion as the explosion of the hydrogen
bomb or something which occurs inside big stars. But there is a “lighter” version of this which is used by the
organisms. Basically the process of combining nuclei releases large amounts of energy. These nuclei are the
lighter ones, such as hydrogen, helium, lithium, boron. Around this area. However today's technology prefers
nuclear fission instead. The first product was obviously the bomb because there is always money for that.

NASA: A Nuclear Reactor To Replace Your Water Heater

NASA: A Nuclear Reactor To Replace Your Water Heater | True Inventions, Environment, Suppressed Technologies and improvements. | Scoop.it
NASA scientists are researching low-energy nuclear reactors that can be employed in the household.

And it does not use hot fusion, the union of hydrogen atoms into larger elements that powers the sun and stars.

Instead, a low-energy nuclear reactor (LENR) uses common, stable elements like nickel, carbon, and hydrogen to produce stable products like copper or nitrogen, along with heat and electricity.

“It has the demonstrated ability to produce excess amounts of energy, cleanly, without hazardous ionizing radiation, without producing nasty waste,” said Joseph Zawodny, a senior research scientist with NASA’s Langley Research Center.

Via Sepp Hasslberger
Sepp Hasslberger's curator insight, February 24, 5:06 PM

Gone are the days when the media crucified Pons and Fleischman for having reported on excess energy found in their experiments. "Cold fusion" has got a facelift and a different name: low-energy nuclear reaction.

When Forbes cites a NASA scientist on the possibility of developing this technology, its commercial availability must be just around the corner...

Arun Shrivastava's curator insight, February 25, 12:25 AM

Dr. Coleman, former intelligence analyst with MI-5, had said about a decade ago that European elite do not want cold fusion technology; they will keep pushing coal, hydro and nuclear. The elite want to extract as much as they can by controlling key sectors of the economy like food and energy.

And that's why they have tried to control radical technologies. However, as Sepp says here, this technology may be commercialized soon.

This technology could have been introduced as early as 1985.

re:publica 2012 - Eben Moglen - Freedom of Thought Requires Free Media

Media that spy on and data-mine the public are capable of destroying humanity's most precious freedom: freedom of thought.

Ensuring that media remain structured to support rather than suppress individual freedom and civic virtue requires us to achieve specific free technology and free culture goals.

In this talk, Eben Moglen offers suggestions about how the Free World should meet the challenges of the next decade.

Via Sepp Hasslberger
Sepp Hasslberger's curator insight, February 24, 10:37 AM

Eben Moglen, one of the initiators of the "Freedom Box" project, makes some extremely important points on how to preserve the freedom of thought and the freedom of action we have fought to attain and preserve over the last millennium.

In the age of social media and commercial software, in the age of governments trying to know everything about everyone, I believe this is of great importance.

Please do take the time (it's about an hour) to watch this video.

Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away.
Naomie Mullins's comment, October 3, 2012 10:50 AM
Meanwhile, In-Q-Tel states that "an important benefit of Genia Photonics' implementation as compared to existing solutions is that the entire synchronized laser system is comprised in a single, robust and alignment-free unit that may be easily transported for use in many environments… This compact and robust laser has the ability to rapidly sweep wavelengths in any pattern and sequence." [PDF]

So not only can they scan everyone. They would be able to do it everywhere: the subway, a traffic light, sports events... everywhere.
