Traumatic Brain Injury in Prisons

Traumatic Brain Injury in Prisons | True Colors | Scoop.it

Offenders with brain injuries make up a huge percentage of prison populations; they also enter the criminal justice system earlier, and stay in it longer.

Renata Hill's insight:

I was shocked to learn that 67%-80% of inmates live with this medical condition. So, of course not everyone with a brain injury will lead a life of crime, but, geez, maybe treating inmates that do have it would help significantly in their rehabilitation!

Is WY Vertical Farm the Future for Many?

Is WY Vertical Farm the Future for Many? | True Colors | Scoop.it

Renata Hill's insight:

The commercial vertical farms that I know of in Milwaukee and Chicago are very successful, sustainable AND community-oriented, providing nutritious produce in urban food deserts. I'm pleased to see this affluent area adopting the same methodology to increase awareness.
