This video fits the CRAAP test through Currency, Relevance, and Purpose. This video was published in 2010, and although this is not absolutely recent, the information presented is still valid. The intended audience would be those who want to learn about savannas quickly or not in depth, which would most likely be high school and middle school students. JSTOR: Ecology, Vol. 90, No. 5 (May, 2009), pp. 1326-1337

Terrence Yi's insight:

This journal from JSTOR fits the CRAAP test through Relevance, Authority, and Accuracy. The intended audience for this source is definitely those that are studying this field, seeing as this text comes from a 1000 page textbook. The amount of information presented is more that satisfactory, greatly detailing the effects of fires on different biomes, particularly savannas in this case. The information is very detailed, relevant to the topic by describing characteristics of trees in tropical grasslands, and is most likely intended for readers in high school, college, or others studying ecology. The information presented is very scholarly, filed with sophisticated vocabulary and diction. The authors of this journal are William Hoffmann, Ryan Adasme, M. Haridasan, Marina T. de Carvalho, Erika L. Geiger, Mireia A. B. Pereira, Sybil G. Gotsch, and Augusto C. Franco. These authors are all extremely qualified, most being professors in biology and ecology at various universities. This journal is also peer reviewed by the textbook editors. The source matches the topic very well, discussing characteristics of the tropical grassland biome and its effect in the presence of fire. There is a bibliography and works cited page that is massive at the back of this textbook, which consist of secondary and primary sources. The information in this source matches those of other sources, making it valid.

Terrence Yi's insight:

This magazine article from National Geographic fits the CRAAP test through Currency,  Authority, and Purpose. This information was published on October 23, 2013, making it very recent and unlikely that the information is out of date. The information presented by this article is scholarly since it is backed by National Geographic. The author of this particular article is Andrew Short, a National Geographic Explorer and an assistant professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Kansas. The purpose of the article is stated in the title; to inform others that a team of scientists are now exploring the wilderness of Guyana. Reading through this article, there seems to be no bias from the author, and is just a statement of recent events.
