Milos island is the most Western island of the Cyclades and in my opinion, has the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. It’s also known as the island where the Statue of Aphrodite/Venus was found. The most convenient way to travel this Greek island is by renting a vehicle. We decided to rent a dune buggy to explore for the 2 days we were there. In less than an hour, we came across this beautiful view.

One of the places that took my breath away is Sarakiniko. Located on the north-east side of the island, Sarakiniko is a beach that is made of volcanic eroded white rocks that make you feel like you’re on the moon.
Cave swimming was another unforgettable experience on Milos. Kleftiko is a complex of volcanic rocks that used to be pirates’ hide out spot. Unfortunately, it’s only reachable by boat, so we took a local excursion, Armi Sea Excursions, to see this beauty. We got to jump off from the bow of the boat into the icy waters and swam through the caves!
The capital of the island is a little, quaint town called Plaka. We decided to check it out before the sunset, and found it deserted. If you want to take a peek at traditional greek architecture and homes without the touristy vibes of Santorini, this is the place.
We finished off our short Milos trip with a sunset dinner by the harbour. Mikros Apoplous had delicious classic greek food with impeccable views. This was one of the most friendly restaurants we ate at during our trip to Greece, and they gave us complimentary wine! If you are thinking about visiting the Cycladic islands, Milos, “the island of colour,” can’t be missed.

Which Greek island should you go to?

Which Greek island should you go to? | travelling 2 Greece | Scoop.it
With 1,400 beautiful islands, Greece offers travelers a tough decision way beyond raki vs wine. Allow us to help out.
Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

Greece's 1,400 islands -- 230 of them inhabited -- are one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful assets.

From the Ionian, up by Albania in the northwest, to the Dodecanese, near Turkey in the southeast, they offer vacations you can't get many other places.

Each of the island groups has its unique allure, plus some of the most picturesque seascapes on Earth.

But for sheer variety in a small radius, proximity to Athens' ferry port at Piraeus and the best inter-island boat connections, none compete with the Cyclades.
