But no words can’t describe what l experience and felt; It was more than l dreamed of, more of an education for my mind & soul, relaxing and yet heartbreaking. It was Humble, Enlightening, Enriching and up lifting. It further my inner self, I was never so happy. I Can’t wait to be back, working with those children was a joy for me and a real privilege, Overall a blessing ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥" Tanzania, Arusha.
I loved this trip. The children were wonderful and my co worker John was excellent. I am so glad I got to do more than one thing there, I know me and I would have been so bored to stay in the orphanage for 3 weeks. I loved going into the village and making a difference. We supplied a mattress for a paraplegic man with bilateral hip wounds. We took a very sick lady to the hospital and she recovered. The community support the tanzanians give each other is heartwarming. I passed out vitamins and was a role model for the young man I was working with. he is not medically trained but by watching me and the questions I asked and my assessment of the environments, I believe he learned alot. I hope he will take his new knowledge and pass it on. That is the ultimate reward to empower people to help each other.

This is a trip that I will never forget. Although some of the things we saw were hard to see, it’s reality and makes you want to help that much more. We want for so much in the US as far as materialistic things and don’t appreciate things we take for granted like running water, electricity, gas for our cars, and easy access to food. People in Tanzania don’t act entitled to anything- they appreciate everything they have. It changes your outlook on everything. It was hard to come back to the US and see how much we waste.
Soccer is one of the most popular gaming activities in Kenya. It is a local leisure activity that can be branded the name staple game, because it is widely appreciated, and almost everyone can play it. However, the local football clubs are in dire need of volunteers to deliver them from the corrupt government officials, who run their country.
Honduras in Latin America is a naturally beautiful country. Bordered on the North by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific on the south, it is home to an energetic and vibrant people who love their culture and mixed identity. This is mostly a blend of Latin America, Amerindian, black, Mestizo and Caucasian identities.
Each day volunteering in the Centro de Salud (Health Center) was unique. Because I speak Spanish and spent the whole day volunteering, the Guatemalan staff at the Centro took a liking to me, and of course me to them, and wanted to make sure I got a variety of new experiences as they knew that I still had one more year of nursing school left and wanted to learn and do as much as I could. Whenever I arrived, I looked forward to seeing the healthcare staff already beginning the day with the Centro filled with patients waiting to be seen. I love the staff because they are all so caring for their people.
I just returned from a glorious 2 week trip to Morocco. Why Morocco? I felt I needed to have an adventure, for inspiration and to feed my soul. I got that in spades, plus much more than I could have asked for. Sometimes when you go away to a place so different than what you know, it forces you to re-examine your life, and things you may take for granted
Several months ago, I had not heard of Kpando, Ghana. In fact, I would have had to search furiously on a map if you asked me to point to Ghana. A few months later, I awoke to a new dawn in the Volta Region of Africa and wondered what a 65-year-old retired lawyer was going to be able to contribute to the lives of the inhabitants of Kpando. The intuitive response was, “nothing. ”What skills does a former lawyer from the United States have that could make a positive impact in this rural town, far from the bustling streets of Accra?.....
