Countries are often identified by the food eaten when visiting them- its more than a consideration made by foodie travellers, its almost become a positive (or negative) stereotype. Artists Caitlin Levin and Henry Hargreaves have taken these stereotypes and turned them into stunning maps featuring the main produce or food associated with the country. What does this mean? Italy is made of tomatoes, Britain of biscuits, France or cheese and Australia of shrimp. Cringe at the stereotype if you will or just marvel at the elegance of the maps, nevertheless in Japan they eat seaweed and in Latin America citrus fruit is a staple.
