Rules of Flying: Ex-Flight Attendant's Top 10 Airline Etiquette Tips - Yahoo Travel | travel | Scoop.it

"It seems more people today aren’t traveling with their manners," Jacqueline Whitmore tells Yahoo Travel. She would know; Whitmore is an etiquette expert (she’s the founder of the Protocol School of Palm Beach), an author, and an ex-flight attendant.

"One of the basic common courtesies most people forget is being mindful of their own behavior," Whitmore says. "Everybody is so concerned with what everyone else is doing, they’re not mindful of their own behavior and how it affects other people."

10 reasons why you still need a travel agent

10 reasons why you still need a travel agent | travel | Scoop.it
Many agents still provide services or have knowledge that you just can’t get online –and sometimes, especially in times of crisis, working with a real live person is just plain superior.

And we can save you tons of time since we can do the research for you. When you are interested in a cruise you look at each ship, line, itinerary etc. Unlike airlines there's no Kayak.com to help you compare all this info but your travel agent can do this for you helping you narrow down your plans and book you the best trip for your needs all the while finding you the best price.

Well i mean is good just because for example when i leave on a cruise i like calling my mom atleast twice to let her know im okay. But i wouldnt use it to be on the phone 24/7 because i also like to relax on my vacations.

craineisha alford's comment, January 28, 2015 3:57 PM
Personally I don't think I would want a robot fixing my drink but at least you won't feel the need to tip lol. But I noticed a lot of ships are going for the whole technology feel but that takes away from the whole cruising experience. You want to socialize and experience that exceptional service from human beings. Before technology advanced real live people were serving you and everything was okay then so why do we feel the need to change things that don't need to be changed.
Leslie Merryman's comment, January 28, 2015 7:39 PM
Robotic waiters are just a gimmick to get you on the ship. I agree the real service comes from the hard working men and women employed on the ships as waiters, cabin stewards, bartenders etc. We'll always need real people no matter how many places we can order by ipad and have drinks made by computer because we LIKE the human touch in addition to the novelty.
Cruise Line Class's comment, January 29, 2015 3:06 PM
