The bold green and brown color scheme completes the forest effect. The hotel offer a rooftop spa, fitness room, sauna, Turkish bath, two treatment rooms and outstanding views of Lisbon, the Figueira Spa is a truly peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.

Food tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors for the discerning traveler, focusing on the production and consumption of food. Large brand like whole foods are developing journeys of tasting around the world. Dedicated, wealthy, and discerning consumers are likely to salivate at the news and become the venture’s first customers.
According to the International Culinary Tourism Association, culinary tourism is defined as “the pursuit of unique and memorable eating and drinking experiences”. What this means is there is a particular audience of people who are willing to travel the world in order to sample and experience authentic international cuisines. And Portugal is one of those destinations.
Food and drink festivals constitute the sole instance where the decision to travel is taken solely on the grounds of the gastronomic experiences offered. These are becoming more prevalent, in particular in Europe. Whilst this segment is growing, at present there are estimated to be no more than one million international culinary tourists traveling each year.

It's a bit of a shame that the easiest way to describe this magnificent structure requires reference to a cartoon from the 1960s, but the way in which it incorporates its natural setting defies most conventional description. Located in the Fafe mountains of northern Portugal, A Casa do Penedo, or "the House of Stone," was built between four large boulders found on the site. Although the house may seem rustic, it is not lacking in amenities, which include a fireplace and a swimming pool--carved out of one of the large rocks. But, as word has spread, the sleepy little house has had visitors venturing to see it in droves.
CasasNaAreia is a gorgeous holiday retreat based on the transformation of old masonry buildings into new, contemporary structures.
The property is about the experience of living almost in an extension of the natural environment, especially in the kitchen/dining area – which is laid out with a carpet of fine sand. One of the two wooden volumes was converted into a two-bedroom pavilion and the other is employed for common and social areas.
Surrounded by rice paddies and umbrella pine forest, CasasNaAreia looks out onto the Sado estuary, famous for its stunning sunsets, salt pans, flamingos and flocks of dolphins...
Imagine a place where land meets water, a peninsula which separates the blue of an ocean and the green of a river. White, sandy beaches and secret paths across wild sand dunes which lead you to enchanted enclaves.

The new St. Apolónia Cruising Terminal | shopping facilities.
The port of Lisbon authority has recently launched a public tender for cruise activity concession in Lisbon. The concession includes the existing cruise facilities in Lisbon Cruise Terminal, at Santa Apolónia, and the construction of the new terminal building, a project by the Portuguese architect Carrilho da Graça. with completion anticipated by the end of 2014, The new Terminal will host in its new retail space four fashion brands for those arriving in the city on a cruise — Calvin Klein, Hackett London, Pepe Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger. So who knows we might soon have a whole commercial center there.
The Port of Lisbon is the meeting point between the pleasure which the river inspires and the rhythms of the city. In addition to the important role which it assumes within the frame of national and international maritime transports, tourist cruises and recreational boating, the Port of Lisbon also assumes itself as an acknowledged centre of attraction of populations who live in or visit the city of Lisbon and the River Tagus. On both banks of the river, there are a variety of restaurants, bars, outdoor cafés and other types of offers which every day invite people to enjoy the tranquillity which the river promotes. According to a government plan the north bank of the Tagus will be used solely for cruising and recreational boating.
In addition to this project, the Executive decides now proceed with the construction of a second cruise terminal, as with the departure of the container terminal, Alcantara will be available with an area of 14 hectares and a front pier of 630 meters.
So given the many projects coming up in the future, the question is, will Lisbon become the new French Riviera...

Luis Rebelo de Andrade in collaboration with Diogo Aguiar completed the design for seven cozy accommodation units presently known as the “Eco-Resort” and located in Parque de Pedras Salgadas, Portugal.
The original resort was especially envisioned as a serene place for guests to get away and experience nature in its purest form: “Designed in a modular prefabrication system but flexible to adapt to the specific places within the park, these houses result in several different combinations of the same three modules (entrance/bathing – living – sleeping) creating different morphologies and different dialogs with the surrounding environment“.
The interiors of the resort are highly modern and pay tribute to the minimalist style. In other words, functionality is a key factor in the design, although the architecture also ranks high in aesthetics...
