A transmedia universe around a social issue creates a number of entry points for activists, influencers, policymakers and members of the general public to participate in dialogue, create shifts in perception or culture, and engage in direct action.
Lina Srivastava works at the intersection of many fields which gives her a really unique take on what cross-platform work can do. She coined the term "transmedia activism" to describe a cross-platform storytelling framework that creates multiple points of entry to raise awareness and influence action.
As an extension of the New Media Fund, currently in its inaugural year, the Tribeca Film Institute teamed up with SilverDocs to present a Transmedia Lab at the Festival.
