Matt Bolish: "Instead of telling a story set in this world, [transmedia creator] Coulson and company decoded tell the story of the world itself. They used the prolific descriptions of Westeros provided in the novels to inspire sensory experiences—sight, smell, sound, taste and touch—to turn passive audiences into something altogether different: tourists" ...

Disney's Biggest Stars Join Forces for Skylanders-Style Gaming Mash-Up

Disney's Biggest Stars Join Forces for Skylanders-Style Gaming Mash-Up | Transmedia: Storytelling for the Digital Age | Scoop.it

Chris Kohler:  "If you're at all familiar with the success of Skylanders, you won't be too surprised by Disney's latest gaming initiative."

The Digital Rocking Chair's insight:

It's called Infinity and, if Skylanders is anything to go by, we're going to be hearing a lot about it in the next few months.  Must say, I don't mind ... it looks pretty cool.  It combines characters from multiple Disney storyworlds into a single game with the potential to mix and match them in levels of your own creation.  John Lasseter has described it as “a tool chest for creativity".

Parker Donat's curator insight, January 22, 7:33 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney pulls off this multi-story world game and makes millions.
