It is fantastic that the term ‘transmedia’ is now so widespread across the industry and with the official credit (attached ironically to film primarily) but is it a bubble about to burst – is what we have come to know as ‘transmedia’ in danger of being blown out of all proportion...

The Producers Guild of America announced that it has formally christened the “transmedia producer” credit, recognizing those who manage and adapt entertainment properties that span multiple platforms.

Most who are familiar with making film-based video games would agree that the current process is broken. Although I believe that this system can be fixed, doing so would require fundamental changes to the way that these games have been getting made for the last several decades...
