Transmedia - what schools should be thinking about doing.
James Carter: "After five seasons, two universes, and multiple timelines, Fringe ended its run January 18, 2013 on Fox. I’m proud to say I stuck with this show to the very end. More than anything – like other fans – I connected with the cast’s phenomenal performances. When the sci-fi was good, the show was great. When there was more “fi” than “sci,” the actors buoyed the show to the next peculiar portal."

Loved this show ... it had some 'jump the shark' moments, but it was one of the best scifi series to come along since BSG. I will miss the characters.

We often look for a reference project in terms of transmedia storytelling. It’s hard to find this rare gem that mixes different media, independently of one another; relying on participation and interaction; all of this with a limited budget and a success story.

What I really like about the BBC’s approach to creating transmedia content for Sherlock was that the show’s producers kept everything super simple and everything they created was worked back into the show as important story points.
This is an excellent case study in the use of transmedia storytelling techniques. The article contains lots of specific examples and I'm already looking forward to Part 2.
