Google Demo Slam

Welcome to Demo Slam. Where a little creativity takes tech demos from mundane to mind-blowing. All thanks to people like you.
Chanelle Savich's insight:

By making it seem like a game, Google uses the power of people with too much time on their hands to sift through work that other companies pay people to do at a much slower rate. Hence, Google's search results seem fresher, easier to find, more engaging, and Google got us to do the sifting for them. For free. Because they called it a slam and made it a competition. Smart Google.

Library of Resources | Professional Development | The Inquiry Project | Transliterate | Scoop.it
Chanelle Savich's insight:

Productive Talk strategies for creating meaningful class discussion. Instead of just telliing teachers to "ask better questions," this  Inquiry Project breaks down the task of facilitating meaningful discussion by offering specific tools for the teacher to use, thus overcoming the barrier of lack of training in this area. The benefits of productive talk transcend the science classroom; once students understand the method, they can carry the skills to other classrooms and continue to use them.

Chanelle Savich's insight:

It's a simple tool, and I don't know that "story builder" is the best name for it, but if you've got a few sentences that you need people to read, and you think they'd be more likely to read it if you make it seem like you and a friend were having a conversation about the topic (set to music), this is a good tool for that sort of thing. try it by following the link.
