This article requires more thought; I like Scoop.it for myself and for saving things I really find thought provoking, but I'm very hesitant to have kids use it--it's too easy to scoop without reading or adding any value. How do we get to the high value, "manual" approach? Take another read through this article and determine how that can be done. I like the graphics, but I think more research needs to be done to explore what the author is saying briefly here. Delete the scoop?

Simple changes that we can make in order to make our work places and classrooms more motivating for students. It certainly suggests to me that making kids struggle a bit isn't a bad thing. That's what makes them proudest -- when they are able to accomplish the hard thing. Delete the scoop?

Unlike Scoop.it, Edcanvas allows you to add and easily manipulate items of all types (local files, websites, Google Docs, etc.) which you are collecting into a unit. The two social media tools serve different purposes, but I think Edcanvas will be useful for units of instruction in a way that Scoop.it is not.
