Unlike Scoop.it, Edcanvas allows you to add and easily manipulate items of all types (local files, websites, Google Docs, etc.) which you are collecting into a unit. The two social media tools serve different purposes, but I think Edcanvas will be useful for units of instruction in a way that Scoop.it is not.
