"I had the privilege of holding a Google Hangout with Holly Clark (@HollyEdTEchDiva) and Tanya Avrith(@EdTechSchools). It was a great chat, where we compared US, NZ and Canadian school systems. Afterwards I was checking out Holly’s stuff and came across her great introduction to iPads in Classrooms. I checked with Holly and she was keen I do one of my visual representations of the ideas. We have come to a point in the education technology journey where it seems rather dull to still be asking if the iPad is the right device for the classroom. The answer, in case you’ve missed the last few years of debate is that it is a great option, but this is not universally accepted …

"Technology integration in instruction is a process that starts with setting out clearly defined objectives and ends with assessing learning outcomes against these objectives, and all along the way several tools and strategies are employed to attend to the overall performance of this process. Hence, the first question teachers need to ponder when thinking about using technology in class is not what kind of technology to use but what do they want to achieve behind using this technology? On a deeper level, they need to find answers to questions such as: Does this technology constitute a a good addition to the learning task ? Can the same learning task be performed without using technology? These and several other questions should come to the forefront when you start planning a technology-based learning activity.
"Sending attachments via email is practically second nature for most computer users. Create a set of documents that need to be distributed to your colleagues an off they go as attachments. On desktops and laptops its easy to send multiple attachments. On Android and Windows Phone devices you can also easily attach multiple files to an email. On the iPhone and the iPad, not so much.
In iOS, sending multiple attachments in an email is not something for the faint of heart. The word cumbersome gets new meaning when applied to this process. In fact, for those who like or need to quickly send multiple attachments on an iOS device the lack of an easy way to do this is enough to make you wonder where all the talk about iOS devices being used for business and the enterprise comes from."
