(CAT) (VIDEO) - Filter Navigation in memoQ | Kevin Lossner

"This video shows how memoQ filters combined with the Go To Next function can enable contextual navigation and review based on defined conditions."

Via Stefano KaliFire
Stanislav Okhvat's insight:

In this instructional video, Kevin Lossner shows how to use memoQ's Go To Next command to navigate between specific types of segments during pre-translation or proofreading. This approach is better than using memoQ filters since you can see the context around the segments you are looking for. You are also not constrained by filter restrictions, i.e., you can join or split segments in the process, which is not possible when a filter is applied.

How to use Replaceables in Wordfast Pro (video by Reginaldo Francisco)

Translation Tribulations: Want a revolution? Try memoQ 2013 Release 2 (by Kevin Lossner)

Translation Tribulations: Want a revolution? Try memoQ 2013 Release 2 (by Kevin Lossner) | Translator Tools | Scoop.it

OK, so I'm exaggerating a bit. And even though the new version of memoQ was officially released today by Kilgray, it really is still beta software. But damned good beta. I expect that there will be more of interest to individual translators added in this version of memoQ than in any other version I've seen up to now. Lots of T's to cross and i's to dot still, but there is great promise, and it's worth having a look now at the future of memoQ.

Stanislav Okhvat's insight:

Kevin Lossner covers the most important features in memoQ 2013 R2 released yesterday night. There is also a video showing the monolingual review feature that allows one to update the translation from an edited version of a previously exported document.

(CAT) - The multilingual Excel filt... revolution! | Kilgray Blog

(CAT) - The multilingual Excel filt... revolution! | Kilgray Blog | Translator Tools | Scoop.it

"It has become a habit at Kilgray that every now and then we sneak in some massive functionality into an interim build. 6.2 is no exception here either, as build 6.2.15 introduces some very interesting functionality.

As we have made our foray into the computer games market, it became pretty clear that in reality, agile multilingual localization happens in multilingual files stored in a structural format, which is usually either Microsoft Excel or multilingual XML. I believe we can see the benefits now - there is no issue with versioning, no problem with different languages being at different review levels, and this is what the developers want: a single file that they can use to feed the most up-to-date, linguistically reviewed translations into the ..."
