Research underpins both teaching methods and practice as well as discipline-specific content of all our papers.

Published research in the following areas relate to the multilingual nature of our student body:
Teaching and learning strategies in the multilingual translation classrooms (Crezee and Sachtleben)
Situated learning in multilingual health translation classrooms (Crezee and Goetthans)
Situated learning/special pedagogies for teaching health interpreting in multilingual classrooms (Crezee, Sachtleben and Goetthans)
Another strand of research focuses on the issues and practice of interpreting in refugee settings, both in New Zealand and Australia. Published articles are:
